PREVIEW
Notts County come into this clash with Hartlepool off the back of a 3-0 hammering at the hands of MK Dons in the league.

If last season’s meetings are anything to go by, then the hosts will fancy their chances of picking up maximum points. The clubs met twice last campaign in the league and the Magpies took four points. The game at Meadow Lane was certainly one to remember for Notts County after an impressive 3-0 win over Pools. Looking back at the following season though reveals that the Magpies were edged out 1-0 by today’s visitors.

The Magpies, 2.05 favourites on BETDAQ, have won four of their five home games in League One since August, but Pools remain unbeaten on the road. It’ll be a tight game and the draw looks the best bet here given the respective runs of both clubs.

Mick Wadsworth’s side also have had the luxury of a week break, while the Magpies were in Johnstone’s Paint Trophy action on Tuesday evening. Confidence won’t have been boosted following a 3-1 home loss to Chesterfield in that cup game.

Lee Hughes will likely provide the main threat up top for the Magpies and he’s made a strong start to League One. The striker has two goals in his past three league games and he’ll be hungry to add to his season tally.

Martin Allen’s side have been in good scoring touch on their own turf, with eleven goals arriving in their five home league outings.
