TWO OUT OF TWO: SHAMROCK gave two bets on Friday and they both obliged at Dundalk. His confifent nap DANICK OF TIME (WON 10/11) was backed up with GORT NA MONA (also WON 10/11). Three from the last four naps have won – the other one fell.
This afternoon’s meeting at Fairyhouse goes ahead after passing a second morning inspection – but there are still some concerns about the chase track.
Conditions at the course remained unraceable following an initial inspection at 8am, but temperatures have risen sufficiently for the four hurdle races and the bumper to be given the green light.
The two races due to be run over fences are the final two contests on the card and a decision on whether they will be run will be made during racing.
Irish Turf club press officer Cliff Noone said: “The hurdle course is fine, so racing goes ahead.
“The chase track is still giving them cause for concern, but they decided to put the two chases last on the card with this in mind.
“They’ll see how temperatures rise during the day and I’d imagine a decision will be made on whether to run the races over fences after the third or fourth race.”
With that in mind I’m concentrating on the hurdles action and for the nap will rely on THE BOSSES COUSIN in the opener.
Trading around 1.67 on BETDAQ he should be another for Team Mullins. He makes his hurdling debut here in a race big in numbers but weak in quality and can build on the strength of three good runs on the flat.
Hidden Future sets the standard and if the favourite does flop could easily mop up this race but I don’t see that happening and a win bet on The Bosses Cousin and a place bet on Hidden Future could easily see both bets paid out.
LISROSE did us a nice favour when winning at 6/1 at Limerick last time out and she could again get involved at the business end in the 2.35 race. It looks competitive and I’m just playing on the BETDAQ place market.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: The Bosses Cousin (Fairyhouse 1.30)
PLACE: Lisrose (Fairhouse 2.35)
