COOLMORE FOR COOLMORE: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the Group 3 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket this afternoon.
The British flat season very much hits full swing this afternoon with the start of the three day Craven meeting.
There’s Irish interest in the Group 3 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes this afternoon at 4.30pm with Aidan O’Brien sending over Coolmore.
Despite the top two runners on the card being non runners it still looks a really open and competitive Group race which is refreshing to see from a punting perspective.
Coolmore must have been highly thought of to have been named as she was but she only won one of her four starts as a two-year-old. That came at the Curragh when she came out best in a tight finish to the Group 3 Weld Stakes.
For my money, she ran a better race next time out – here at Newmarket – in the Group 1 Dubai Fillies’ Mile when fourth to stable companion Minding. Although beaten seven lengths, it was still an excellent run and she gets the exact same good to soft ground today.
Ryan Moore takes over in the saddle for the first time and she looks an excellent win and place proposition on BETDAQ.
