PREMIER LEAGUE THURSDAY: We preview Thursday’s Premier League action between leaders LIVERPOOL and SHEFFIELD UNITED with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats.
LIVERPOOL V SHEFFIELD UNITED
8pm After a bumper nine games yesterday in the Premier League, we only have one game to enjoy tonight! Champions Elect Liverpool host Sheffield United in what should be an entertaining game. Liverpool had VAR on their side again against Wolves at the weekend, while Sheffield United couldn’t get on the scoresheet with VAR against Manchester City!
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Liverpool 1.29, Sheffield United 13.5 and the draw is 6.4. It’s nearly impossible to see past Liverpool here, their stats at home are incredible. They are unbeaten in 50 league games at Anfield and they’ve won their last 17 in a row. Now that’s a home fortress. Additionally to that, they’ve now kept four clean sheets in a row in the Premier League. Not only do they impress the most up front – they are improving at the back.
It’s been such a busy schedule for all the Premier League clubs, perhaps we will see Klopp choose to rest some players here. They are 13 points clear with a game in hand afterall. We can see Liverpool winning, but Sheffield United can keep the scoreline respectable. Any Other Home Win (Liverpool to score four or more and win) is trading 4.0 in the Correct Score market and this looks too short. However, we’re going to take a chance with under 2.5 goals at 2.52 which looks good value. Sheffield United have been keeping things tight in recent weeks and can stay close to Liverpool, despite the hosts going on to win. It’s worth checking the prices of 1-0 and 2-0 home wins in the Correct Score market closer to kick off.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.52.

- Liverpool are looking to keep five consecutive Premier League clean sheets for the first time since September 2007 under Rafael Benitez.
- In Premier League history, only three newly-promoted teams have won away from home against a team starting the day top of the table – Ipswich at Norwich in December 1992, Derby at Man Utd in April 1997 and Hull at Arsenal in September 2008 (P63 W3 D12 L48).

- Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has won his last 19 Premier League games against English managers, the longest ever such winning run by a manager in the competition’s history. The last time he failed to win such a game was at Sam Allardyce’s Everton in April 2018 (0-0), while his last such defeat was against Allardyce’s Crystal Palace in April 2017 (1-2), which was also Liverpool’s last home league defeat.
