JONATHAN HOBBS: CENTRAL PARK will only be behind Romford when it comes to staging open races again and begins the countdown to that day with probably the best graded race they’ve ever staged tonight. kick-starts its return as a greyhound track tonight in the best possible fashion with a crackerjack invitation race over 500m.
An A1 on the card, live on RPGTV, features British Bred Greyhound of the Year King Sheeran, fellow-big-race winner Desperado Dan, as well as multiple ‘major’ finalists King Dylan and Lenson Whelan. Throw in in-form Tommys Panther and it’s a crackerjack affair.
Central Park will shortly be attracting entries for the first competition of the ‘new normal’ era with the Colossus Bets Kent Silver Salver and also have a D1 top-grade sprint on the programme in which a few of the star locals do battle. They will then look to step up in class for the Category Two event.
Towcester’s second meeting since its return also features tonight, live on SIS, and they, too, kick off proceedings with a hot sprint featuring the likes of classy kennelmates Coolavanny Messi and Silva Hill.

6.52: It’s great to see multiple big-race winner King Sheeran back. He and brother King Dylan, another regular winner and regular Cat One finalist, give Liz McNair a strong hand here against the classy and powerful Desperado Dan, as well as recent runaway winner Tommys Panther. But Sheeran’s comeback trial was ace and his all-round speed can win the day.

7.32: Tonight’s card at Central Park includes a batch of inter-tracks with Henlow, with a team from the Bedfordshire track supplied by trainer Jason Bloomfield. However, Patrick Janssens’ powerful Goldies Symnsy (7.32) catches the eye for the Patrick Janssens camp over 480m. He is better than latest.
8.32: Savana Dare could rate some value for the visitors. The Jason Bloomfield-trained runner has his favoured draw against the fence and does have previous experience of the track. However a decent break will be needed to offset the challenge of the more-than-useful Goldies Ginola, who arrives in flying form.

8.52: A cracking D1 final where Mark Fenwick’s Foxwood Boom (8.52) could go well. He missed the break last week in the heats but still ran a stormer in defeat behind Courts Ad Shiek. He is best judged on a previous top-grade victory and takes some holding if breaking fast from the inside.
