BETDAQ DOES IT AGAIN! THIS TIME SHAMROCK LANDS 16.5 GAMBLE: Betdaq ante-post offers are the talk of Cheltenham after Daqman’s 17.0 Rock On Ruby and yesterday we pulled off a staggering 16.5 in the Shamrock column for opening scorer Sir Des Champs (WON 3-1), a horse with a big, big future.

‘FREE’ BET FOR A PLACE AT LEAST: Shamrock has also nominated Free World (19.5) ante-post for today’s Grand Annual but he’s 27.0 this morning. Shamrock’s response? ‘Take 6.4 the place; I still think he’ll go well.’

DARROUN (1.30 Cheltenham): The son of Dalakhani beat the benchmark for this, Hisaabaat. Watch David Casey seek out the best ground and manfully hold off the ‘Baby’ French favourite.

DIRAR (2.05 Cheltenham): 15lb better in with the winner, Moon Dice, Dirar’s Galway Hurdle third and English Ebor win suggest that the 19.5 offers this morning must be taken. Given too much to do (8th) in the race last year.

BOSTON BOB (2.40 Cheltenham): ‘He’s the one,’ says Willie Mullins, who will be clawing back the Nicky Henderson deficit, with this winner and Darroun. More to come?

QUEL ESPRIT (3.20 Cheltenham): What an amazing turn around it would be if Willie can win the Gold. To my mind, this is the improver of the race and demands an each-way bet, as Kauto Star tests his old engine yet again and Long Run has to redeem a couple of let-downs before the last day.

SALSIFY and BOXER GEORG (4.00 Cheltenham): I’d like to think this was ours, with seven sound chances in the Foxhunter, fronted by Salsify, winner of two of the top Irish hunter-chases last Spring. Holds On The Fringe and Not Before Eight on Leopardstown form.

But Boxer Georg is a massive 25.0 offer, as the Aintree Fox Hunters’ runner-up; a mistake cost him that race and, provided the ground isn’t too solid today, has an each-way chance.

Willie Mullins – yes, I’m putting out all the positive vibes for our champion trainer today – reckons he’s a better horse this season, even though he’s 10 now.

MAKE A TRACK (4.40 Cheltenham): My colleague Daqman has pinched Toner D’Oudairies, so I’ll take the 15.0 Make A Track, a Graded performer who seems sure to be in the six and give Gigginstown some prizemoney.

FREE WORLD (5.15 Cheltenham): Though Lucky William and Slieveardagh have big chances for us, I fancied Free World for Arthur Moore, who used to farm this race. I shall support my 19.5 ante-post with a place bet at 6.4.
