8pm Monday night football comes from La Liga this week as the sole game in Europe! All eyes on BETDAQ Betting Exchange will be on Getafe hosting Celta Vigo and we have a very open market. All three outcomes are pretty close to the magical 3.0 mark, and it’s fair to say that the market is expecting a very close game! This is a massive game for both sides who have started the season slowly. Celta Vigo won’t be happy with where they are towards the bottom of the table, while Getafe are nailed to the bottom.
Getafe obviously have huge issues. They have lost seven of their nine games, and every week they become more detached at the bottom of the table. They have made slight progress in recent weeks with two draws from their last two games, but they desperately need a win soon otherwise morale will be very low. It’s OK starting slow, but the pressure will build and build as the weeks go by and eventually you find yourself fighting a losing battle to catch up. We’ve seen it so many times before.
As I said above, Celta Vigo will be very unhappy with their position in the table. They finished up in 8th last season, although they were in 17th the season before that! It looks like they will be closer to 17th than 8th this season, and looking through their xG figures it’s fair to say they haven’t been unlucky and deserve to be where they are. They have played well over the last two weeks but came out on the wrong side of very close games, but then they picked up points earlier in the season when they shouldn’t have – for example they drew 0-0 with Osasuna while conceding an xG of 2.87.
Although Getafe are nailed to the bottom of the table, there are reasons to believe this one will be close. You can understand the market being so open. Getafe have had to play Sevilla, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad already. There is hope for them yet as easier fixtures will come. For them to stay up though, they need to get points from games like this. Getafe have only seen over 2.5 goals in two of their nine games this season, and it’s fair to say they like to keep games tight. With Celta Vigo creating little chances this season, I feel we could see a very cagey and dull game here. The market is expecting a quiet game with under 2.5 goals trading 1.5, but I still believe that’s a value price. It’s hard to call this one, but there won’t be many chances.
