GAVIN CROMWELL: An exciting weekend for Gavin and his yard as he sends eight runners to Fairyhouse across Saturday and Sunday.

It’s a fantastic day’s racing at Fairyhouse on Sunday and we have two leading chances in the Drinmore and Royal Bond with Gabynako and My Mate Mozzie both going for glory. It’s not just those two that run for us this weekend, though, below I preview all our runners.

Saturday Fairyhouse

Getting us started on Saturday is Jurby in the 2m5f Handicap Chase (12.00pm), he comes here off a long lay off and he’s not getting any younger, but I think he could be open to some improvement. Hopefully he can show us a bit of spark here and run a nice race.

Midnight It Is goes for us in the 2m Maiden Hurdle (1.36pm). He’s been a bit frustrating to be honest and hopefully we’ll see something here back in trip. He’ll love the ground so there can’t be any excuses there and it would be nice to see him run a good race.

Silvertown is next up in the 2m4f Handicap Hurdle (2.11pm) and steps up in trip for it. He’s in good nick and we’re hoping that could bring about a bit of improvement. He should be competitive in this if taking a step forward he can be there at the finish.

Stumptown runs in the 2m4f Novice Hurdle (2.46pm). He would appreciate some softer conditions so we’d like some more rain to get into the ground. If it does then he would have to have a good chance.

Sunday Fairyhouse

My Mate Mozzie gets things started for us on Sunday and it’s in the 2m Grade 1 Royal Bond (1.05pm). He’s coming here in good form and we were very impressed with him the last day at Navan. He’ll appreciate going right-handed as he jumped a bit to the right that day. It’s a very competitive race but he should have a very good chance.

Gabynako is the second of our Grade 1 runners and he takes his chance in the 2m4f Drinmore Novice Chase (1.35pm). He also was impressive the last day here at Fairyhouse, but again it looks another really competitive field. If he can put in a round of jumping like he did the last day he should have a real live chance.

Wolf Prince runs in the 2m Handicap Hurdle (3.10pm) and in truth he’s not that well handicapped, but he’s well in himself, so hopefully there could be an each-way chance with him. Brides Hill goes in the same race, and she ran a nice race the last day so hopefully she can get involved.

Western Walk is our final runner of the weekend in the 2m bumper (3.40pm). This will be his first ever run and this looks a nice race. We’ll learn plenty from his run here but hopefully he’ll show us something on the day and run a good race.
