ANOTHER RED-CARPET DAY FOR DAQMAN: Daqman’s winning nap yesterday was his eighth successful best bet among 25 winners in the 18 days of July. It was another odds-against morning strike before money forced the offers down to odds on.
WON 8-13 RED AZALEA nap (from 10-7.1 on BETDAQ)
SIX RUNNERS ONLY IN THE KING GEORGE: There are just six runners left in the King George on Saturday. Daqman looks at them in five different ways: today ratings, going preference and their place in his Fortune Cookies horses to follow, then..
Tomorrow: King George form and stats
FORTUNE COOKIES: BIG-RACE CLASH
👑 KING GEORGE There are just six left in the King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. Runners with ratings and, since the forecast is a mix of strong sunshine and heavy showers, the going is listed for their winning form:
3.35 Ascot, Saturday (King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, 1m 4f, Group 1)
125 Mishriff (John & Thady Gosden): good (3), good to soft (1).
125 Torquator Tasso (Marcel Weiss): good, good to soft (4) and heavy.
120 Westover (Ralph Beckett): good (2), good to soft.
119 Pyledriver (William Muir & Chris Grassick): firm, good, good to soft (2), soft.
117 Broome (Aidan O’Brien): good, good to firm, yielding (2), soft (4).
117 Emily Upjohn (John & Thady Gosden): good (2)
▪️ FORTUNE COOKIES have a match on our hands for the King George where we should have had just Westover on our side. But our Irish Derby and Oaks double wasn’t to be, when Emily Upjohn had to miss last Saturday’s fillies Classic at the Curragh because of travel problems.
▪️ FOURTEEN are left in the Cookies list. Read across: winners so far and then next race date

LADIES FIRST
⭕ 2.25 Musselburgh Opportunities are not surprisingly thin on the ground today with one afternoon and one evening card.
Lady Lavina is the nap on the Musselburgh card for Team Johnston and I’m hoping for around even money on Betdaq Betting Exchange (1.95 at the time of writing).
It’s possible that she wins this by default as it isn’t a strong contest, in fact that’s being kind.
Lady Lavina dropped away fairly tamely at Pontefract last time out and didn’t give an immediate impression that she would be suited by the step-up in trip today, however it’s quite possible that it was simply a below par effort and she is probably better judged on her previous effort at Chelmsford.
Even on early ratings she has 9lb in hand over chief market rival Fomo who looks exposed and not as progressive as the selection so it’s hard to see that gap being narrowed.
Sweet Fortune will probably do better over this longer trip but she has been beaten a total of 17 lengths in her first two starts so it’s a tough project to make a case for her.
IT’S IN THE STARS
⭕ 3.00 Musselburgh I managed to find a first win for a long term maiden with Red Azalea yesterday and hoping to repeat the trick today with Celestial Star. To be fair, her sequence is only six without a win but she has run some credible races and deserves a first success.
Two of her best runs have come here and the hope must be that the first time visor ekes out an improvement but the real bonus comes from the handicapper who has dropped her 3lb for finishing second in a maiden at Ayr last time out.
Cases can be made out for most her of rivals with Reputation looking the biggest danger, he’s hinted recently at a first win since 2019 but Ruth Carr’s current form (0-20) tempers enthusiasm.
SAVING THE BEST TIL LAST
⭕ 8.00 Ballinrobe It might be best waiting until the last at Ballinrobe. The bumper sees the reappearance of Duncreevan after a near 500 day absence.
He ran a huge race on debut at Leopardstown behind Meet And Greet and Top Bandit who have both won since and shown good form in really good quality races.
Duncreevan wasn’t without support in the market that day (40/1 into 12/1) and fingers crossed Gavin Cromwell has him back to that kind of form and he can start making up for lost time.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
