FRIDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Friday’s games between LAS PALMAS v ATLETICO MADRID and PSG v MONTPELLIER both with recommended BETDAQ bets.
LAS PALMAS V ATLETICO MADRID
8pm It was a quieter than usual week around Europe this week with no Champions League action, but we’re back with a bang on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE for Friday night football! We have one game from La Liga and one from Ligue 1 with Atletico Madrid and PSG both in action. We start the evening in La Liga with Atletico Madrid away to Las Palmas. Atletico Madrid find themselves in quite a strong position in La Liga after putting six wins in a row together; including a 3-1 win over Real Madrid. After the results last weekend, Atletico are now only three points behind Real Madrid and they have a game in hand too. They are also three points behind Girona who have been the absolute surprise package in La Liga this season! Las Palmas will be happy with their start to the season too; they start the weekend sitting nicely in mid-table with 14 points from their 11 games, and after coming up from the Segunda they will be delighted to be away from the relegation battle. However, there have been some red flags in the performance levels of Las Palmas.
Although they have managed to collect points, and that’s to their major credit – they are one of only three sides with an average xG of under 1.0 this season. If they want to stay in mid-table and stay away from the danger zone, they have to start creating more chances. They have been keeping things relatively tight at the back, but if they aren’t scoring then even conceding an average xG of 1.3 will cause issues. Atletico haven’t been creating a huge amount of chances this season – their average xG is 1.46 compared to Real Madrid at 2.06, and they are conceding marginally more than Las Palmas at 1.33. Atletico come into the game trading as the odds on favourites at 1.7 with Las Palmas at 6.0 and the draw is 3.95. I have to say the 1.7 on Atletico is a tempting bet, however Atletico’s xG away from home is pretty low and that coupled with Las Palmas being very limited going forward, I like Under 2.5 goals at 1.92 which looks an excellent position. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Atletico grind out a 1-0 win, but I don’t see many goals here.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.92 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

PSG V MONTPELLIER
8pm We move to Ligue 1 to finish the evening as PSG host Montpellier. PSG got off to a very slow start this season, and they have already dropped more points than they do at this stage of the season! They have put three wins together though, and now they are only one point behind Nice at the top of the table. The reality is how bad do PSG have to be to not win the title given the gulf in class between them and the rest. That being said, they failed to win in 2020/21! There’s been a lot of change at PSG over the summer with Messi and Neymar leaving, and Mbappe will leave next summer too when his contract ends – a deal to Real Madrid is already lined up; although they have a star in Jude Bellingham now! In my opinion, PSG needed this reset. They basically had no midfield or defence behind the big three up front, and that was exposed in the Champions League. They’ve always seemingly had problems in the dressing room, and they just need to start again. In fairness before the Saudi Arabian money came into football; PSG was the place to go to chase money – maybe that will actually benefit them in the long-term. They need players that want to try their best every day and aren’t just there for a big salary.
Montpellier currently sit in mid-table, and that’s where they finished last season. I feel this is a case of how many goals PSG can score rather than will they win. The market is very confident on the home win here, PSG are trading as short as 1.3 at the time of writing with Montpellier 10.5 and the draw is 6.8. Despite dropping points, PSG are the top performing side in Ligue 1 this season. Their average xG created is 1.98, the next best is 1.79. They have been solid at the back; they have the third best record for chances conceded. Montpellier are actually conceding one of the highest figures in the league – they have the fourth worst record at the back, but they have been playing a very open game; they are creating the same figure! They will very likely pay the price for being so open here, and I can see plenty of goals in this one. PSG to score four and more is trading 3.45 in the Correct Score market (Any Other Home Win) and this looks a very nice value bet in what should be an entertaining game.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Any Other Home Win Correct Score at 3.45 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
