NOW 7 FROM 8 NAPS: Shamrock bounced back with another winning nap on Tuesday – THE FERRYMAN WON 11/8 to make it 7 winning naps from the last 8. For good measure the only other bet – a lay – Purple was third at 4/5.

The opener at Naas tonight takes on a new complexion with the news that Jim Bolger’s debutant Rapid Approach (son of New Approach) is a non runner. It surely would have been his for the taking as the race looks full of average runners and that’s been kind.

There’s no way I would have napped in this race if Rapid Approach was running, but you need to be fluid when analysing races and this takes on a new shape completely.

Of the ones that have run, Lady Gosford and Spinacre look to have shown the most on the track and dominate the betting but there are big question marks against them both and it would be no surprise to see a debutant win, possibly Very Elusive.

In truth I have no clear view on the winner, but I do know I want to be against both Lady Gosford and Spinacre at the prices so will lay them both and hopefully we’ll get the ‘double bubble’. As always there are so many ways to play BETDAQ and looking beyond just trying to pick a winner gives lots of angles to punters.

For the nap I am siding with Regal Power in the 6.50. He ran really well over course and distance two starts ago (on same ground) before disappointing over a longer trip at Fairyhouse. He is preferred to Flying Doha who is untried on this ground.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Regal Power (6.50 Naas)
LAY: Lady Gosford (5.45 Naas)
LAY: Spinacre (5.45 Naas)
