CHELSEA V LEEDS

3pm The FA Cup Semi-Finals continue on Sunday from Wembley, and we have a fascinating clash on Betdaq Betting Exchange as Chelsea face Leeds. This is an absolutely massive game for both sides – a game that defines their entire season really. Leeds are as good as safe from the relegation battle in the Premier League, so they can come and have a proper go here with no worries. Chelsea come into the game in crisis – Liam Rosenior was sacked on Wednesday following five consecutive Premier League defeats in which Chelsea failed to score a single goal. It’s been chaos at Stamford Bridge more-or-less all season.

Caretaker Calum McFarlane now takes charge, stepping in for just his second spell in temporary command after previously filling the void when Enzo Maresca left in January. On paper, this is a fixture that Chelsea should be winning but surely Leeds will fancy their chances looking at what’s been going on. Leeds are in the FA Cup Semi-Final for the first time since 1987; I’m sure we will see some fantastic scenes from their fans this weekend! Chelsea come into the game as the favourites at 2.2 with Leeds 3.45 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing.

The fact that Champions League football has almost certainly slipped away – Chelsea sit eighth in the Premier League table coming into the weekend – means this is a chance to save a desperate season. You could say it’s a chance to stay in Europe too given the rate at which they are falling down the table! Despite all of the turbulence, Chelsea’s underlying numbers in the Premier League are notthat bad. Their average xG created of 1.57 is the joint-fifth best attacking figure, and their average xG conceded of 1.31 is fourth best. They should really be in a Champions League spot. Leeds could also say they should be higher in the table – their average xG created of 1.40 is a respectable mid-table Premier League figure, and their average xG conceded of 1.44 is similarly mid-table. Solid enough for their return to the Premier League given the massive gap to the Championship these days.

Perhaps Chelsea had some major issues in the dressing room and they lost faith in Liam Rosenior. When he first came in, the players couldn’t speak highly enough of him – football moves fast though! We’ll only know by the performance we get from the players here to be honest – five games without a goal is a miserable run; could they be transformed now with the manager gone. From that point of view, I do feel this is a situation for small stakes. However, I still feel that the 2.2 is too short on Chelsea here. Leeds have played some good football this season and I feel that Chelsea price is expecting an improved performance which might not come. I expect the game to be closer than odds of 2.2 suggest on Chelsea.

The Striker Says:
Two points lay (liability) Chelsea to beat Leeds at 2.2 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
