CLONMEL FOR TONIGHT’S NAP: SHAMROCK heads to Clonmel for their evening card which gets underway at 4.25pm and, for once, the field sizes are quite small.
I need to start getting a run together on the NAPS. I’m a bit binary at the moment – when they win they lose the next day.
On the subject of NAPS – good luck to colleague DAQMAN who bids for his SIXTH WINNING NAP on the spin today.
The field sizes in the flat races tonight are relatively small. The first four races (all flat) on the mixed card have each attracted less than 10 runners so, in theory, that makes the job a little easier. In theory….
There are six runners in the opening claimer but the BETDAQ market says (borrowing a football cliché) it’s a race of two halves.
Anyone of Mighty Whitey, Hoppsan or Auden could go off favourite with the three outsiders all having there own private battle in price at around 30.
Using official ratings in claimers comes with a wealth warning but Auden, a regular in this type of race, looks to have a very sound chance on the figures and can go well under the talented Colin Keane. You would expect the tactics to be ‘try and make all’.
In the 4.55 Orator has form figures of 2222 but surely will go one better here ? Layers may well want to take him on, given he has been a beaten favourite in his last two starts, so you may end up getting an inflated price.
