I’m really looking forward to Spurs’ trip to Old Trafford on Monday. United did what they do best at the Hawthorns on the opening weekend – grinding out results. They have an uncanny ability to grab late goals from their never-say-die attitude that the manager enforces.
Although Hearts were woeful on Thursday night, Spurs gave a good account of themselves to hammer five past their Scottish opponents. Now Harry Redknapp must find a way to finally end their dreadful record at Old Trafford, but it should continue for at least another season.
There’s a slight concern for Sir Alex in regards to the fitness of his first choice centre-back pairing. Phil Jones, Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling are more than capable of slotting in, but you cannot replace Ferdinand and Vidic’s experience. Even with a few personnel changes United will be too strong for Spurs.
