THANK YOU RACHAEL: Rachael Blackmore retired on her own terms yesterday – just as she has conducted her whole career. In her case the terms have broken barrier after barrier and it’s impossible to do justice to her career in just a few words. A winner of each of Cheltenham’s feature races including A Plus Tard in the Gold Cup, a first Grand National winner for a female rider on Minella Times and a relationship with Honeysuckle that simply kept on blossoming. The 35-year-old can now look forward to life outside of being a jockey and I wish her well.
