As an Arsenal fan I have never been particularly keen on Man United – but I really dislike them now. First, they ruined my BETDAQ bet in week one by failing to beat Stoke, despite a couple of glorious chances, and then they nicked a point off Liverpool last weekend just as we looked set to cash in on a home win. This time out it’s the Manchester derby and the match should be coming to a conclusion just as you’re reading this, but I’ll leave the United predictions to someone else.
Today also marks the occasion of the 2011 Rugby World Cup final and, like a lot of people, I’m pretty sure New Zealand will have written their name on the trophy this morning for the second time. However, I reckon it might have been a closer game than many expected.
All in all, today will have been a top day for sporting action, with the conclusion being the annual NFL game at Wembley. As a big fan of American sports it is a fixture that I always look forward to, but for some reason we always seem to be playing on the same day, so I have never been able to make it to the London showdown. And not even Lewis Hamilton would be able to get through the M4 traffic in time for the 6pm start on a Sunday evening after our match, so I’ll have to settle for watching it on TV again.
I’ve been a Dallas Cowboys fan since I first got into American football in the Nineties, but I’ll be cheering on Tampa Bay Buccaneers as I’m backing them to beat the Chicago Bears as this week’s bet of the week at around 2.02 on BETDAQ.
They have four wins to the Bears’ three so far this season and beat New Orleans Saints last weekend, while they also have ‘home’ advantage today. Furthermore, the Buccaneers are better on rushing and passing yards so far this season – and we all know how the Yanks love their stats.
