On Monday, BETDAQ began an association with the Injured Jockeys Fund at their sponsored race meeting at Doncaster which featured seven BETDAQ sponsored races on the eight race programme.
In the middle of the race meeting, the BETDAQ Bull was in operation inviting racegoers to ‘’Challenge the BETDAQ Bull’’ in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund.
With all money raised on the day going straight to the Injured Jockeys Fund, BETDAQ will then match the amount raised from those who participate in the challenge and offer prizes for those who record the best time on the Bull.
2014 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Injured Jockeys Fund during which time it has spent over £18m in charitable assistance helping over 1000 individuals.
In 2009 the Fund opened its first rehabilitation centre, Oaksey House, in Lambourn. Building on its success a second similar state-of-the-art facility to be named Jack Berry House is currently under construction in Malton which is due for completion by the end of 2014.
The IJF has a team of nine Almoners who liaise directly with beneficiaries on a support basis and also
a team of 40
volunteer Visitors who keep in touch with elderly and isolated beneficiaries offering friendship and company.
Speaking on behalf of BETDAQ, Marketing Manager Gail Banim commented; ‘’We are delighted to begin this association with the Injured Jockeys Fund which is a very important organisation for the Horse Racing Industry. We hope that those who attend Doncaster on Monday May 12th will donate generously and also take part in challenging the BETDAQ Bull and hopefully win some nice prizes in doing so.’’
