BETDAQ XSP: How Much More You Should Have Made At The Cheltenham Festival.
The Cheltenham Festival is always brilliant, but did you get the value this year?
You could have made over £1,000 more at Cheltenham this year betting at BETDAQ’s XSP instead of Industry SP, for just £10 stakes.
For those of you that don’t know, the BETDAQ XSP is basically the price of the horse at the off. On a market where the XSP icon is displayed, BETDAQ will calculate the XSP when the market is being turned in play. BETDAQ customers can select to have any unmatched back or lay bet matched at XSP by ticking the ‘Take XSP’ box when placing the bet.
With that explanation out of the way, let’s get onto the results of the Cheltenham Festival 2017!
Of the 28 winners at this years Cheltenham Festival, only three horses returned at a shorter XSP price compared to the Industry SP – and when we say shorter, we have also factored in 5% commission too. It’s highly likely that most BETDAQ users will pay less than 5% commission if they use the site regularly, however we thought factoring in 5% was only fair.
Tuesday
We got underway with Labaik winning the Supreme Novices Hurdle on Tuesday, and he was actually the best result for the Industry SP compared to the BETDAQ XSP – he was quietly well backed on BETDAQ and returned at 23.19. Ever after that, the XSP still would have made you £75.71 more for £10 stakes on the day.
Wednesday
Onto Wednesday now and this was a whopping day for those who got the value on BETDAQ! You would have made £476.75 more at the XSP today – what a result. The winner of the Champion Chase Special Tiara returned at an XSP of 35.31, compared to just 11/1 with the bookies. While Flying Tiger won the Fred Winter at a huge XSP of 55.75!
Thursday
We then had a few winning favourites on Thursday, however that didn’t stop the XSP performing way better than the Industry SP again – with an extra £275.67 profit. Domesday Book was the biggest winner of the week, returning at an XSP of 68.91! You would have made £245.15 more than betting at the BETDAQ XSP compare to the industry SP on this one, even after 5% commission is taken into account too.
Friday
And finally, you would have made an extra £251.53 after commission betting on the BETDAQ XSP on Friday. It was great to see Jessica Harrington land the Gold Cup with Sizing John, and Willie Mullins had two big priced winners with Arctic Fire and Penhill returning at XSP’s of 31.04 and 21.13, again way over industry SP.
All together, you would have made an extra £1,079.66 betting at BETDAQ’s XSP compared to the Industry SP at Cheltenham for just £10 stakes, even after 5% commission. If you like betting just before the race, then the value is really on BETDAQ’s Exchange – there’s no doubt about that.
As you can see, only three winners from the 28 races would have made you more money at the Industry SP. The Irish runners smashed the English runners at this years Cheltenham Festival, but not as much at the BETDAQ XSP compared to the Industry SP!
