CARABAO CUP TUESDAY: We look ahead to Tuesday’s Carabao Cup Quarter Finals between LEICESTER v MAN CITY and MIDDLESBROUGH v BURTON ALBION with extended stats and recommended BETDAQ bets.
LEICESTER V MANCHESTER CITY
7.45pm The Carabao Cup Quarter Finals kick off on Tuesday night and we have an excellent fixture to start. The all-conquering Man City travel to take on Leicester and if the markets are anything to go by; an easy away win is expected! The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Leicester 9.6, Manchester City 1.37 and the draw is 5.9. Looking at the way that City have been playing lately, it’s hard to see anything but a City win here – Leicester have had an up and down season and come into this fixture without a win in three games.
We had this fixture at this stage last season though and Leicester managed to hold City to a draw – only to exit on penalties. City actually have a fantastic record when they get to this stage of the competition and it’s hard to see Guardiola not fielding a very strong side – they haven’t been eliminated at the Quarter Final stage since 2007-08! We expect a bloodless City win here, especially as Leicester have been struggling recently, and we like City to win Both Halves at 3.1 – that looks cracking value considering the amount of goals they have been scoring this season.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Manchester City to win Both Halves at 3.1.

- Leicester City have been eliminated from all four of their previous League Cup meetings with Manchester City, including a penalty shootout defeat in this round last season.
- Manchester City have gone on two win the League Cup the last two times they’ve faced Leicester in the League Cup – knocking them out at the quarter-final stage in both 2013-14 and 2017-18.
- This is only the second time Leicester have faced the holders of the League Cup, with the Foxes losing 3-4 against Chelsea in the 2007-08 campaign.
- Leicester are looking to reach the League Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1999-00, when they went on to win the competition.
- Manchester City haven’t been eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the League Cup since 2007-08, when they lost to eventual winners Spurs. They’ve progressed the last five times they’ve reached this stage.
- Leicester are yet to concede a goal in this season’s League Cup.
- Leicester’s last two League Cup games have been decided on penalties – only Liverpool and Stoke in 2015-16 and Cardiff in 2011-12 have had three games go to penalties in a single edition of the competition.
- Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho has been involved in seven goals in his nine League Cup matches with Leicester and Man City combined (4 goals, 3 assists).
MIDDLESBROUGH V BURTON ALBION
7.45pm Leicester v Manchester City might be the live Sky Sports game and the game that most casuals will be interested in; however this is a huge fixture for both sides! What an opportunity they have here to get to a Cup semi-final, especially considering the other sides they could have got in the draw – they are the only non Premier League sides left. Middlesbrough are heavy favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Middlesbrough 1.43, Burton Albion 9.6 and the draw is 5.0.
It’s fair to say that this Middlesbrough team aren’t the most exciting team to watch; however you can say that about most sides that Tony Pulis will take charge of. Burton have a terrible away record this season losing six of their ten away games in the league and while they will be massively up for this fixture; it’s hard to see them winning. Their best hope is more than likely a draw but we can’t see Middlesbrough scoring too many goals either – we expect a pretty cagey and boring affair here and under 2.5 goals looks value at 2.08; we feel it should be odds on.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.08.
