CARABAO CUP: We preview Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game between CHELSEA v DERBY COUNTY with extended stats and a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CHELSEA V DERBY COUNTY
7.45pm The Carabao Cup action continues on Wednesday night as Frank Lampard returns to take on his old club. Derby have already got past Man United at Old Trafford on their Cup run this year so they won’t fear this challenge – although it has to be said that United are having a poor season this year and Chelsea will be a much tougher challenge.
Chelsea are heavy odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Chelsea 1.3, Derby County 13.5 and the draw is 6.2. This Derby’s fourth away game in a row in the competition and they are currently sitting in 6th position in the Championship Table – they have an excellent spirit about them and play some good football so Chelsea will need to name a pretty strong side here.
It’s hard to back Chelsea at 1.3 considering that Derby have had some excellent away results this season and with Chelsea’s busy schedule; we could easily see some big names rested. We feel that Derby will score at some stage as Chelsea have only kept two clean sheets at home in all competitions this season.
It’s very tempting to lay Chelsea at 1.3 or back over 2.5 goals at around 1.65 however Both Teams To Score appeals the most to us at 2.1 – we feel that it should be slightly odds on given the stats heading into this one and we’re happy to take the value. Don’t underestimate this excellent Derby side!
