CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg game between REAL MADRID v BAYERN MUNICH.

7.45pm We’re down to the business end of the Champions League now and it doesn’t get much bigger than this. Just one game away from a place in the final, Real Madrid take a 2-1 advantage into the second leg. Bayern would have been bitterly disappointed to lose in front of their home fans, and they have it all to do tonight in Madrid.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Real Madrid 2.28, Bayern Munich 3.05 and the draw is 4.1. How each manager sets up his side tonight will be very interesting. Bayern obviously have to attack, while Real will be happy to kill the game and get through. As we have seen with Juve winning 3-1 here and Roma beating Barcelona – defensive tactics don’t pay off against the top sides. Real will have to approach this one on the front foot, however it’s hard to see them letting the game get too open – unless they concede two early goals.
Obviously with the talent on offer in both sides, many punters are expecting goals. Over 2.5 goals is only trading 1.41 at the time of writing, and that looks pretty short considering that Real won’t want an open game. Bayern had a huge amount of chances at home however it will be tougher for them tonight. Under 3.5 goals is certainly of interest though at 1.99 in such a big game with the home side not needing to win, and while Real offer slight value at 2.28 here with home advantage – we prefer under 3.5 goals at the odds.
