WEDNESDAY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games featuring Man City, Liverpool and Spurs with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
FEYENOORD V MANCHESTER CITY
7.45pm After a slightly underwhelming start to the season, Manchester City finally clicked into gear when hammering Liverpool 5-0 at the weekend. They were obviously helped by the Mane red card, however that will do them the world of good for their confidence and no team will want to face them in that mood. The markets expect an away win, with City trading 1.44 at the time of writing. This is Feyenoord’s first time in the Champions League group stages since the 2002/03 season, however they did beat Manchester United in the Europa League here last season and before that managed to beat Sevilla who have a stunning record in the Europa League – so they can perform well at home. That makes us feel that City look way too short at around 1.44 – Feyenoord had a superb record at the back in the Eredivisie last season too. While it’s tempting to lay City at 1.44, looking at Feyenoord’s home record, we prefer them on the +1.5 goal handicap at 1.8 which looks great value.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Feyenoord +1.5 goals to beat Manchester City at 1.8.

LIVERPOOL V SEVILLA
7.45pm It’s not so long ago that Sevilla beat Liverpool 3-1 in the Europa League final, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for a different result this time to get his sides Champions League season off to a winning start. They were well and truly beaten by Manchester City at the weekend, even though the red card didn’t help. You’d have to say though that Klopp still hasn’t fixed their problems at the back, and with Sevilla having a good record in Europe, and a good record away from home too – Liverpool look very short at 1.75. Sevilla are a great side and we feel that the markets are underrating them coming into this one – from a value point of view, the 1.75 on Liverpool is a great lay.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Liverpool at 1.75.

TOTTENHAM V DORTMUND
7.45pm This is the most open market of Wednesday night, with the odds at the time of writing currently trading; Tottenham 2.4, Dortmund 3.2 and the draw is 3.6. Spurs will hate having to listen to memories of their Champions League campaign last season, and that is what started the “they don’t play well in Wembley” opinions. Looking at their start to the Premier League season too, those views aren’t going away quickly – however a win here would silence them, for a while at least! Dortmund’s away record in the Champions League is very good, and while there simply isn’t enough data to strongly suggest that Spurs just don’t like Wembley – based on everything we’ve seen going into this game, the home side look very short at 2.4. They looked tactically outplayed in the Champions League last season, and until we see an improvement at Wembley, we have to lay Spurs at these odds.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Tottenham at 2.4.
