CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League matches between MAN CITY v LYON and YOUNG BOYS v MAN U – both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MANCHESTER CITY V LYON
8pm Manchester City start their Champions League campaign on Wednesday night and Pep Guardiola will know his side will be judged on their European success this year rather than their domestic success. City started the Premier League odds on to win after dominating last season; and now all eyes will turn to see how England’s best side get on in Europe. They have been given an easy Group to start with, and should top the Group with the minimum of fuss.
Such is City’s dominance these days, they are the shortest price of any side to win in 90 minutes tonight. The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Manchester City 1.19, Lyon 18.5 and the draw is 8.6. It’s very difficult to see anything but an easy City win here – Lyon have started their season with two wins and two losses in the French domestic league and City have been playing some very stylish football. We expect City to start their Champions League with a bang and we like Any Other Home Win (City to score or more goals and win) at 2.64.

YOUNG BOYS V MANCHESTER UNITED
8pm It’s another tricky away tie for Manchester United and their price will divide plenty of opinions here. United are odds on, with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Young Boys 5.4, Manchester United 1.75 and the draw is 3.95. United come into this tie off the back of two away wins in the Premier League after losing 3-2 away to Brighton and 3-0 at home to Spurs. Much has been documented about Mourinho and they way he plays; however the question and answer is always similar – United just don’t look assured away from home.
In reality they should win this tie easily given the gulf in class between the sides; however there will be many punters who take on the 1.75. One has to wonder whether Mourinho will decide to rest some players here; however he would be unwise to underestimate Young Boys given how United have played away from home at times this season. We feel that United price is just about right; but we can see this being a pretty boring game with United grinding out a 1-0 win perhaps. Under 2.5 goals is odds against and that looks good value at 2.06.
