CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s two Champions League games between ATLETICO MADRID V JUVENTUS and SCHALKE V MANCHESTER CITY both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATLETICO MADRID V JUVENTUS
8pm We have another superb night of Champions League action on Wednesday and this fixture will be fascinating. It’s bound to be a very close affair between two teams who give nothing away, will Ronaldo be the difference? Atletico have an excellent record at home and Juve will have to be at the top of their game to come away with a win here. Juve are by far the best team in Italy, but this is elite competition now and traveling to Atletico is a massive test.
We have a very open market, in fact there’s not much difference between the prices at all! The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Atletico Madrid 3.0, Juventus 2.9 and the draw is 3.05. Only Real Madrid have managed to beat Atletico here this season, it’s hard to get away from the idea that this will be a very low scoring and tense affair. Atletico have the best defensive record in Spain while Juve also have the best defensive record in Italy (along with attacking!) Under 2.5 goals looks a little short at 1.55 though so there’s little value there. We prefer the Juve lay at 2.9 – Atletico’s record here is obviously very impressive and Juve won’t be throwing men forward here knowing the second leg is to come in Italy and that’s where they can win the tie.

SCHALKE V MANCHESTER CITY
8pm Manchester City would have been absolutely delighted with this Champions League draw and they will be hoping they don’t mess it up now! They could have barely got an easier tie and they are trading the shortest price of any team away from home this week and last week too. The market just can’t see past a City win here and why not with them in excellent form. Guardiola will be hoping to put the tie to bed here as they have a very busy fixture list coming up and it’s always easier to rest players at home.
City are heavy odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Schalke 12.5, Manchester City 1.29 and the draw is 6.6. You’d have to say that City haven’t set the Champions League alight this season; however Schalke are probably weaker than any team they’ve faced thus far and we expect a bloodless win here. Guardiola’s men are currently trading 1.8 -1.5 goals and that looks massive considering the amount of goals they are scoring at the moment.
