CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League action between OLYMPIAKOS V TOTTENHAM, PSG V REAL MADRID, ATLETICO MADRID V JUVENTUS and SHAKHTAR DONETSK V MANCHESTER CITY all with recommended BETDAQ bets.

OLYMPIAKOS V TOTTENHAM

5.55pm What a night of Champions League football ahead! We have some excellent fixtures this evening, and we start with a tricky away trip for Spurs against Olympiakos. Spurs finally clicked into gear in the Premier League at the weekend with four goals against Crystal Palace – a result they needed. Prior to that, they had started their season a little slowly. The loss at home to Newcastle was bitterly disappointing and then they blew a two goal lead against Arsenal – they should be full of confidence going into this tie but Olympiakos have won their six games and have had tough battles in Champions League Qualifying.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Olympiakos 4.6, Tottenham 1.95 and the draw is 3.6. Obviously we all know what a wonderful run Spurs had in the competition last season, only losing to Liverpool in the final. However; they barely got through the Group Stages and while they delivered when they had to – they started slowly. The result at the weekend was progress however we need to see more from them before we feel that 1.95 offers value away from home. We can see Olympiakos making those odds look very short and from a value point of view, we’re happy to lay Spurs.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Tottenham at 1.95.

PSG V REAL MADRID

8pm What a clash! This is what the Champions League is all about. We have had plenty of rumours about PSG players joining Real Madrid over the summer, and now they have a chance to put on a show in Paris. Real Madrid have an excellent record in this competition, however they haven’t been at their best since Ronaldo left. They have had a huge amount of problems and bringing back Zidane hasn’t really solved them either. It will be very interesting to see how they get on tonight.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; PSG 2.46, Real Madrid 3.05 and the draw is 3.65. It’s fair to say that the standard in the French League is vastly below the other top leagues in Europe; however PSG have seemingly had a better start to the season than Real. We’ve seen Real concede a host of goals already this season, and with Bale seemingly unhappy but scoring – we can see PSG coming out on top in this one. They may come up short in the knockout stages, however they have had plenty of excellent results in the Group Stages and we like the home win at 2.46. PSG to outscore them.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
PSG to beat Real Madrid at 2.46.

ATLETICO MADRID V JUVENTUS

8pm Another brilliant fixture between two of Europe’s top clubs. Ronaldo and Juventus will have excellent memories of facing Atletico – turning around a 2-0 first leg defeat with a 3-0 win at home in the knockout stages last season. In relation to tonight, we must remember though that Atletico bossed the fixture here and were comfortable 2-0 winners. A fascinating fixture awaits.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Atletico Madrid 2.56, Juventus 3.4 and the draw is 3.1. Both sides had disappointing results at the weekend; however both probably had an eye on this fixture and it’s fair to say that Juventus should win their league easily and a Champions League spot is the aim for the Atletico – so they can afford to focus on games like this. Atletico have an excellent record at home and given the way this fixture went last season, we can only see that continuing tonight. The home side look at least ten ticks too big at 2.56 and we’re happy to back them.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Atletico Madrid to beat Juventus at 2.56.

SHAKHTAR DONETSK V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm We end the evening with Manchester City traveling to take on Shakhtar Donetsk after their shock loss away to Norwich at the weekend. City simply weren’t good enough at the back on Saturday evening and if they don’t improve – they’ll only see the five point gap between themselves and Liverpool continue to grow. These sides met in the Group stages last season and City have always looked at ease. They won 3-0 here and 6-0 at home.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Shakhtar Donetsk 11.0, Manchester City 1.34 and the draw is 6.0. After the poor performance at the weekend, we can expect a backlash from City here and Donetsk won’t be looking forward to this fixture! We can only see City racking up a big score here – especially after scoring nine goals in the two games last season without conceding. Any Other Away Win (Manchester City to score four or more and win) is trading 4.0 in the Correct Score market and that looks cracking value.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Any Other Away Win at 4.0.
