CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League matches with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats. It’s VALENCIA v CHELSEA and LIVERPOOL v NAPOLI.
VALENCIA V CHELSEA
5.55pm It’s a massive night for the two Premier League clubs in the Champions League tonight. It’s superb that we get to watch both games as Valencia v Chelsea is an early kick off. No Group has been tighter than Group H and it’s fascinating to see who goes through. Ajax, Chelsea and Valencia are all locked together on seven points going into the final matchday – someone is going to be gutted and Chelsea will be hoping it isn’t them as they have the tougher test on paper playing away. Ajax are also away but they play Lille who have only managed one point from five games.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade: Valencia 3.6, Chelsea 2.16 and the draw is 3.8. Valencia managed to beat Chelsea in London on Matchday one, but Chelsea have really turned a corner since. Frank Lampard’s men managed to get a huge away win at Ajax but the 2.16 on them to win here still feels too short. Valencia are a very solid team at home and we feel that they will make this one a lot closer than odds of 2.16 suggest on Chelsea. From a value point of view, we have to lay the away side.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Chelsea at 2.16.

LIVERPOOL V NAPOLI
8pm These two are both already certain of going through to the knockouts, but we need to decide who will get top spot in Group E. Finishing top of the Group will be a big advantage going into the next round, however we could see some huge ties given the quality of teams who could finish second! Liverpool have been superb all season, however Napoli managed to beat them earlier this season when they had home advantage. It should be a tough night for Liverpool but they have made Anfield a fortress and should be up to the task.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Liverpool 1.43, Napoli 8.8 and the draw is 5.2. Liverpool also lost away from home to Napoli in the Champions League last season but they won their home tie 1-0. It’s hard to see anything but a close affair here and you have to feel that while Liverpool should get the job done, the 1.43 is too short. With top spot up for grabs we expect a cagey affair, especially to start with. Under 2.5 goals is trading 2.62 and that looks huge – there’s hasn’t been much between these two in all their recent competitive clashes and we feel unders should be closer to 2.0.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.62.
