CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview tonight’s Champions League games between BAYERN MUNICH v CELTIC, BENFICA v MAN U and CHELSEA v ROMA with a recommended BETDAQ bet in each game.
BAYERN MUNICH V CELTIC
7.45pm Celtic may dominate their domestic season however it is a sign of just how far Scottish football is behind the major European league when we see Bayern Muncih trade as short as 1.12 to beat them. Indeed, judging by the way PSG hammered Celtic already in the group, it seems a case of “how many” for Bayern Munich rather than “will they.” For those of you who expect a shock, Celtic currently trade 32.0 while the draw is 12.5 – they can certainly score goals and possibly create an excellent trade – they have scored 16 goals in their last six games in all competitions. It’s hard to see anything other than a comfortable home win here though given the gulf in class between the sides, and with Any Other Home Win (Bayern to score four or more and win) trading 2.1 in the correct score market, that looks to be where the value is for this one.

BENFICA V MANCHESTER UNITED
7.45pm Many Premier League fans will know Benfica well, as they have played many times in the Champions League. They are usually solid enough at home, however are notably poor travelers. They haven’t started their season well at all though this year, they’ve lost their opening two games in Group A, including a 5-0 thrashing against Basel – and they sit five points off Porto in the Portuguese league at the moment. So, all things considered this looks to be a great opportunity for a United win. However, with Benfica winning the last four Portuguese titles we have to consider Jose Mourinho’s approach – as we seen against Liverpool at the weekend, he can sometimes be very negative away from home against side he is fearful of losing against. We feel though at the odds that it’s worth backing United because Benfica haven’t seemed to click into gear yet this season, and it’s a good chance to back United.

CHELSEA V ROMA
7.45pm Chelsea are sitting pretty in Group C after their fantastic last minute win against Atletico Madrid, where they player superbly. However, they are missing a few players now and if their performance at the weekend against Crystal Palace is anything to go by, then they are in trouble here. Roma are in good form too, they did lose to Napoli at the weekend, however Napoli are top of the league and prior to that they are won five in a row. Chelsea look desperately short at around the 1.67 mark – with an in-form Roma side coming they are surely worth a lay – they didn’t create much at all at the weekend against Palace, and we can’t look further than the Chelsea lay here.
