CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games between MANCHESTER CITY V FC BASEL and TOTTENHAM V JUVENTUS with recommended BETDAQ bets.
MANCHESTER CITY V FC BASEL
7.45pm Much like Liverpool v Porto last night, this tie was wrapped up in the first leg when Man City won 4-0 away from home. The markets are giving Basel little hope here, and rightly so given the form that City are in at the moment. The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Manchester City 1.16, Basel 25.0 and the draw is 9.6.
Basel have since lost in the semi-final of the Swiss Cup, and it looks like their season is over already. It’s nearly impossible to see anything but a City win here – they just have way too much class for Basel. Guardiola may take the chance to rest some of his stars with the scoreline the way it is, however we still expect a strong Man City line-up. We fully expect City to win, however with the four goal advantage it’s unlikely that they will be too attacking here – and if they do lead by a goal or two going into the final 30 minutes, they’ll probably take their foot off the gas too. Any Other Home Win (City to score four or more and win) is trading only 3.0 in the correct score market, and we feel that looks too short considering the situation.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Any Other Home Win at 3.0.

TOTTENHAM V JUVENTUS
7.45pm What a superb night at Wembley we have in store! Just when it looked like the tie was slipping away from Spurs when Juve lead 2-0 in the first leg, they battled back to 2-2 and now they have the advantage going into tonight with away goals in the bag. The markets have the London side as favourites to win in 90 minutes too, with the match odds at the time of writing; Tottenham 2.26, Juventus 3.6 and the draw is 3.5.
Spurs don’t have much experience of these big Champions League nights, whereas Juve have been there and got the t-shirt. That could easily become a factor here if things are tight in the second half – who can keep their cool? Away from home in Serie A at the moment, Juve are on a seven game winning streak, including a 1-0 at Lazio at the weekend. We feel that Spurs are too short here at 2.26, this is going to be a cracking game and we expect it to be very close – we strongly feel that it will be closer than odds of 2.26 on Spurs suggest, and have to lay that from a value point of view. Juve are a very solid side, and while Spurs did superbly well to comeback in the first leg – if Juve scored the penalty things could have been very different, and Juve have a lot of experience in these big games – they may even sneak a win here.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Tottenham at 2.26.
