FIVE NAPS UP OUT OF SEVEN: Daqman’s tips return today on a hat-trick of naps after last weekend’s best bets both won, taking him to five out of seven.

WON 8-11 ZHANG FEI (Sunday nap)
WON 5-2 VICTTORINO (Saturday nap)
WON 4-6 RAJEKO (Wednesday nap)
WON 11-10 VIOLENTI (Tuesday nap)
WON 6-5 LADY BALKO (Monday nap)

KING GEORGE DAY AT KEMPTON: Two bull’s-eye bets today at 11.5 (King George) and 14.0 but a supernap in the Christmas Hurdle.

RIO GRAND AT 14.0 ON BETDAQ

⭕ 12.45 Kempton No winner of this novices’ limited-handicap chase has been older than six since Loose Chips in 2013.

The Kempton forecast is good and youth and the ground will suit Asta La Pasta, who has improved a stone in the gradual process of reaching success over today’s trip at Carlisle and a place in the Fulke Walwyn Trophy at Newbury in November.

The Newbury winner is now rated 141, which is 10lb better than today’s top weight, Range, so puts a different complexion on today’s race.

Range gets 3lb from Dylan Johnston’s claim but was lofted 8lb for beating the 118-rated runner-up the last day at Chepstow, and he wants a deep surface.

An autumn double showed that El Rio likes good ground and has recovered from a long illness which kept him out of the frame 18 months.

BETDAQ value: 4.3 Asta La Pasta, 14 El Rio

MASACCIO IMPRESSED HIS YARD

⭕ 1.20 Kempton This Kauto Star Novices’ Chase of 3m has more recently produced Black Corton and Bravemansgame for the eponymous hero’s Paul Nicholls yard.

And those who read the same trainer’s glowing reports of Welcome To Cartries as ‘a beautiful horse’ will have been heartened by his first run back when he faded only in the final furlong at Sandown.

The 3m Grade-1 Albert Bartlett winner, The Jukebox Man won the John Francome at Newbury when making his chasing debut over shorter at Newbury but runner-up Masaccio was staying on strongly and trainer Alan King, who said then the grey would stick to 2m 4f, has looked at the replay and changed his mind.

White Rhino is not as progressive as some in this but he is another whose plans have been changed (from a Pertemps Final target) after scoring 2-2 over fences.

Hyland loves decent ground and comes here off back-to-back success at Cheltenham but this is the day his future is being put on the line.

His jumping ability is exceptional but all seven successes have come going left-handed, and this is a big step up.

YOU NEED CONSTITUTION FOR IT

⭕ 1.55 Kempton (Christmas Hurdle) Constitution Hill goes for a hat-trick and seven out of eight for Nicky Henderson in the Christmas Hurdle that Willie Mullins last won back to back with Faugheen (2014-15).

Willie challenges with the five-year-old grey mare, Lossiemouth, winner of the Triumph Hurdle and the Mares Hurdle at successive Cheltenhams among nine hurdles hits out of 10.

Lossiemouth has 7lb with which to close a ratings gap of 15lb with Constitution Hill and makes a price about the favourite for those who have faith that his fitness worries have been all about rumour. Do you have the stomach for it?

Burdett Road bids to become the first four-year-old winner since 1942. Lump Sum won here as a novice in February.

L’HOMME PRESSE IS THE KING

⭕ 2.30 Kempton (King George VI Chase) Winners rated 167 are on a hat-trick, which points up Venetia Williams’ nine-year-old L’Homme Presse, who was headed close home two years ago (on soft) and unseated at the last. Goes well fresh and big at 11.5.

His stablemate Royal Pagaille, second in that race to Bravemansgame, beat Grey Dawning in the Lancashire Chase.

Grey Dawning had completed three out of four on the soft by winning the Turners at Cheltenham and today’s surface does not suit as well.

The six-year-olds Spillane’s Tower and Il Est Francais are condemned by the stats: only one of that age has scored in the decade.

Spillane’s Tower has made dramatic improvement (20lb) since the Spring while Il Est Francais has failed twice on soft at odds on since impressive in winning 11 lengths on this Kempton card (going good) a year ago.

Banbridge has also won at Kempton and was unlucky to unseat at Cork when about to challenger Energumene the last day.

That Spillane Tower, kept mainly to 2m 4f, prefers this 3m trip relies on his Punchestown Champion Novice success in April when he beat the Brown Advisory runner-up but the race was run 37 seconds slow

Betdaq Betting Exchange 11.5 L’Homme Presse, 6.0 Banbridge.
