SIX DAQMAN NAPS IN A ROW: 15 WINS SINCE TUESDAY: Daqman stepped up his scoring rate yet again yesterday, with a super SEVEN winning bets – making FIFTEEN in the last three days – and landed consecutive winning nap number SIX. Here they are:
WON 5-4 (15pts): WAILA (nap)
WON 5-4 (12pts): DANK (nap)
WON 5-4 (10pts): DJINNI (nap)
WON 5-6 (20pts): CUT THE CARDS (banker nap)
WON 8-15 (10pts): ROSIE PROBERT (nap)
WON 3-10 (20pts): PORTRAIT (banker nap)
HE HAS 35 HITS IN 13 DAYS: He’s now on 35 wins in the last 13 days after two straight winners, including Shesastar (WON 7-2), plus three doubles and a treble up.
HE LAYS MARS: MAKES 102 POINTS PROFIT: Daqman’s extra Thursday success, making seven in all, was a daring lay on Mars (2nd 8-11) in the big race at Ireland’s evening meeting. He’s now made 102 points profit in three days.
HE LANDS 13 OUT OF 15 BIG BETS: The Mars lay means that 13 of the last 15 bets of double-figure stakes have won, the last eight in succession. Add these to the naps list above since July 17: * ALONG AGAIN (10pts), WON 10-11; TELESCOPE (20pts banker nap) WON 1-2; GHASABAH (10pts) WON 11-4; MAPUTO (20pts banker) WON 3-10; STRONGLY SUGGESTED (13pts) WON 6-4; BENNACHIE (12pts) WON 6-4; MARS (10pt lay) 2nd 8-11.
Today’s nap was 4.0 on BETDAQ this morning. That’s just in case there are knockers about, meaning those who attack any tipster for short-odds returns.
My naps are never long odds on when I tip them. Some are so much better odds on BETDAQ that I curse the SPs, which makes me look like I’m playing safe.
I play value. I play the markets. I play the stats. I play the percentages. And some would say there is no such thing as playing safe. They still have to win.
But there is one area where I freely confess to taking advantage: I bet on BETDAQ, where once again today, the offers add up, percentage wise, to punter-friendly value, even as early as 10 a.m. for the night meetings. Now read on..
3.10 Ascot (Brown Jack Stakes) This looks an opportunity for Mysterious Man (has beaten Mawaqeet twice) who ran well until his stamina ran out in the Ascot Stakes (Homeric behind).
Highland Castle (as quirky as his trainer), Broxbourne (wins only in class 5) and Desert Recluse (struggled to score off slow pace on AW) don’t appeal.
6.30 York The last five winners of this came from stalls 3, 8, 3, 3 and 6, and 12 of the 15 placed horses in that time were drawn in single-figure stalls. No winner was older than 5.
With these stats in mind, the offers about Pea Shooter (10.0 on BETDAQ as I write) and Sir Pedro (12.0) are tempting.
7.30 York Her close second to Oaks winner Talent in May read very well at the time but Lady Nouf’s again trying to set a slow pace at Newbury didn’t pay off.
Richard Fahey thinks a lot of Ladys First and Albasharah was placed in the Lancashire Oaks (Group 2) but the winner of that race was from the same stable as Hippy Hippy Shake.
Kieren Fallon’s sole mount on a busy day of five Flat meetings and 8.4 on BETDAQ this morning, that offer could be massive if, as expected, the race cuts up because of the firm ground.
8.10 Newmarket: Semeen and Villoresi should have this between them at an evening meeting noteworthy for punter-friendly lists in the orange, even by 10 a.m. (104% for the 6.40 and 107% for the 7.40).
The 109% list for this race means that I could take 3.5 Semeen and have a stakes saver on Volloresi. Nothing else seemed to be fancied or have the form to cope with them.
8.00 York Again, if the rain holds off, two or three of these may come out or, if they run, will be disadvantaged. It’s also hard to fancy older horses.
That seems to isolate Ehtedaam and Altharoos, both with only five runs each, so likely improvers. I think it unlikely that Godolphin will go home without a win from either Albasharah (7.30) or Ehtedaam.
DAQMAN’S BETS (to win 20 points each, except stakes savers and Daq Multiples)
BET 6.6pts win (nap) MYSTERIOUS MAN (3.10 Ascot)
