17-2 WINNER FOR DAQMAN: Two naps up this week and a 17-2 winner yesterday and top marks go to the Daqman staking plan which kept a narrow winning edge Tuesday and Thursday after the Monday profit and targets a break even today.
WON 17-2 JUSTCALLMEPETE (yesterday)
WON 3-1 MOUNT RUAPEHU (Tuesday nap)
WON 5-4 THE BOSS BEAR (Monday nap)
WON 6-4 MONTY BEAU (profit on the day 17.20)
GO GOODWIN FOR GORDONS
⭕ 12.40 Ascot Conditional Freddie Gordon, who won this last year for Nicky Henderson, rides Goodwin for his father, Chris, after winning two out of four on the seven-year-old since September.
The cost to Goodwin has been 11lb overall, but that’s just 6lb higher in this lower grade than for scoring in class 2 at Plumpton the last day.
Freddie’s mount wants it no worse than good to soft and the weather should hold good for a drying morning.
The market will guide but BETDAQ 7.5 offers looked fair this morning, alongside 5.8 The Gray Ghost, who has won only his maiden and needs to improve back up in trip.
Samuel Spade, a winner over further here in February, and handicap debutant El Galactico would also run well on good, whereas Kapal Layar, recently back from a lay-off, needs it to stay soft.
Mount Anglesby steps up in trip after winning here at a lower novice level seven weeks ago.
THE TEMPLATE FOR STENCIL
⭕ 1.50 Ascot: A hood should help the J P McManus youngster, Stencil, today with Harry Cobden keeping the faith after the four-year-old ran too freely in the early stages of the Arkle Trial at Cheltenham last month.
That was still a decent first chase for the Triumph Trial runner-up of last January who, though only four, is rated clear of today’s bunch but has only to give away the odd pound here and there under the rules of the race.
Though he had just two to beat, Excelero won well when making all at Warwick for Jane Williams but has gone up 7lb.
LET IT RAIN A GOOD THING
⭕ 2.25 Ascot: Dan Skelton has eight runners today, four each at Ascot and Uttoxeter. Three of the Ascot contingent are in the same race, the 3.35 NH Flat race, which they won in 2023 with Let It Rain.
Let It Rain is now the Skeltons sole representative in this 2.25 handicap hurdle, though she has been absent more than a year.
Winner of a Wetherby maiden hurdle eight lengths, Skelton described the Kayf Tara mare as ‘very, very, very good!’
Bred to need much further than this and was not expected to reappear until the Spring but has since had an entry in the Mares Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival so needs to be on the go in a programme to target that date (March 12).
King William Rufus won this big-field hurdle for the Gordons last season and afterwards took a conditionals’ class-3 at Cheltenham. Doesn’t want it soft.
Dance And Glance was fourth behind Alexei over today’s CD on the first day of November, staying on. Since then, Alexei has won the Greatwood!
But, if Let It Rain is so very, very (very?) good as to target the Mares Hurdle, she must be the proverbial good thing in a class-4 handicap.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
