BETDAQ PUNTERS PLAY WITH VALUE: Daqman focused on three races on the opening day of the Newmarket July Meeting yesterday, which offered a near-level playing-field for punters with total percentages of 100, 102 and 104. All were bigger in the bookmaker markets, one of them with a Total SP of 131%.

WIN BEFORE THE RACE BEGINS: Get incredible BETDAQ value offers again today: 102 and 103 (twice) for starters this morning in three of the Day-2 races. It’s how to win before the race begins! Exchange backers know you can play in the fluctuating markets and hunt up the value right to the ‘off.’

ANOTHER APPLEBY VICTORY

⭕ 3.00 Newmarket Colin Keane’s current record in England is 5-12 and his first ride back from yesterday’s Leopardstown meeting is Roaring Legend in this one for Hugo Palmer.

Hugo was talking about this animal’s ‘massive improvement’ when he climbed the grades in landing an AW hat-trick at the start of the year, then tried the Ormonde Stakes (Group 3) before wind surgery and a break.

He led two out in the Northumberland Plate and the Roaring Lion grey could be going places again. I fancy his stable at several venues this week (Hugo’s where? Check out the 7.55 Chester below).

Charlie Appleby zipped back to form with a first-day hat-trick in 75 minutes, and that helps Endless Victory start favourite for this.

But there are other good reasons. Victory would give the race four winning favourites out of five, and six out of seven coming out of a segment of stalls: 3, 4 and 5.

Front-runner Liari (3) may make that happen, towing along Endless Victory (4), last year’s fifth Artisan Dancer (2), and Northumberland Plate runner-up, Dancing In Paris (5), which brings us neatly back to Roaring Legend.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.8 Endless Victory, 28 Roaring Legend

STRONG CASE FOR ADVOCATE

⭕ 3.35 Newmarket (Falmouth Stakes) Stalls 1, 3, 4 have won nine out of 10; Team Gosden 2 Aidan O’Brien 2.

Here’s another Roaring Lion grey, this time the mare Running Lion, Duke Of Cambridge winner at Royal Ascot last season, fourth in the same race this.

Nashwa won the Falmouth in 2023 with a similar rating but she was a top-notch four-year-old; Running Lion is five now and before Ascot was only fifth in a Group 2 on the Rowley Mile course.

Cinderella’s Dream for Charlie Appleby went clear of Elmalka that day but had been well held by Crimson Advocate for the Gosdens in the Duke Of Cambridge, giving away 3lb. It must be close between them today.

Donnacha O’Brien won the Falmouth last year but Porta Fortuna was rated almost a stone better than his candidate today, Atsila.

Elwateen could be best of the second-season fillies, just a couple of lengths fourth in the 1,000 Guineas, but that race has turned out not be a classic!

January (Aidan O’Brien) is now rated beyond her, after a staying on third in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 3.2 January, 6 Crimson Advocate

PATAGONIA GIRL TOP VALUE

⭕ 7.55 Chester Hugo Palmer has ‘owned’ this 1m 2f+ handicap in the last three years, scoring two wins and a second (121) with different animals.

This year he brings back the 2024 winner, Grey Cuban, though he’s 12lb higher now after more success, including another CD strike.

If he is to do the double, he must give weight all round, including a turn around of 20lb with his runner-up, Dream Harder.

But, heh, Hugo surely has it sorted with a stablemate, Patagonia Girl, receiving nearly two stone.

The Australia filly is climbing the ranks, on a hat-trick now after a CD win here just 13 days back.

Consistent Liberty Coach (4-7) has won a grade higher. Let’s Dream has won from the front here at this level with the going on top.

Diaquiri Bay beat Mister Winston five lengths over the Chester CD in May before that one was pipped threeparts of a length by Love Beach in a maiden at Haydock.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 3.1 Diaquiri Bay, 7.5 Patagonia Girl.
