In today’s Prix de la Grotte aux Cristaux (Crystal Cave Trophy) at Vichy, Be Ahead -dropped from Listed class – is the only one in the field to have won at 5f.
That’s a tip in itself, but a second indicator is the booking of another ‘flying machine’, Maxime Guyon, currently one of the top two Flat-race riders in France. I took 5.0 on BETDAQ.
Lady Red Moon switches from Marco Botti to Andrea Marcialis after winning at Chelmsford and Newmarket over 7f. Unlikely to have the speed for this but one to watch out for, when back to 7f or so.

SUBLIMIS IS A POSSIBLE BACK AND LAY
⭕ 1.58 Vichy Arc sixth Soft Light, a high-grade bridesmaid, second in the Hocquart and the Deauville Grand Prix, makes his reappearance at odds-on but has only ever won his maiden, which is always a bad sign.
The back-and-lay boys on BETDAQ might want the early-mouse 7.5 Sublimis, who ‘could be anything’ for Andre Fabre.
Sublimis has a stamina-packed pedigree and I expect them to make use of him, which might be another chance to complete the back-and-lay if the price hasn’t reduced before the race.
