DAQMAN SUPERNAP AND ONE-TWO: Daqman landed a Goodwood supernap yesterday and the one-two in the Nassau Stakes, despite a change in the weather.
Thursday profit on the day: 22 points
WON 6-5 MERCHANT (Thursday supernap)
WON 6-5 WHIRL (one-two with CIRCENE 2nd 11-1)
WON 8-1 OMNI MAN (Wednesday)
WON 9-2 (dd ht) TABITI (Wednesday)
WHIRLWIND NASSAU WINNER: The Goodwood going dramatically turned ‘heavy’ after the Nassau Stakes was run in torrential rain. It didn’t worry Whirl, the five-lengths winner, who goes as short as stablemate Minnie Hauk for the Arc. With Kalpana market leader, the first three in the betting are now fillies.
STARS HAS THE STAMINA
⭕ 1.20 Goodwood (Goodwood Handicap) Align The Stars has won on the course and proved his stamina at Royal Ascot in the equivalent race at today’s 2m 4f trip, 7th but less than three lengths down in the Ascot Stakes. BETDAQ 12.0.
Kyle Of Lochalsh ran in both last year – 3rd at Ascot, 4th in this one at Goodwood – and has won on the soft. BETDAQ 7.0 taken.
Agaggio was 6th in today’s marathon two years ago, toughened up since over hurdles. Had Sheradann 3rd and Zinc White 5th (Goodwood 2m soft in June). Has won on soft and is claimed off (7lb).
Mordor has stayed a bit further over hurdles and his winning Flat form is at 2m 1f and 2m 2f.
Tashkhan loves it soft or heavy but it’s a big test for trainer Brian Ellison to have him back at peak after 306 days off.
Oxford Comma’s time on soft in a Pontefract Stayers Championship round was very slow.
GREEK’S IN GOOD ORDER
⭕ 2.30 Goodwood (Golden Mile) Skukuza, Fifth Column and Arisaig are unproven on soft ground. Winners come from extremes of the draw, like Greek Order out of gate 2.
Targeted for top handicaps – Cambridgeshire second and Royal Hunt Cup fourth – when trained first by Roger Charlton then by Michael Bell either side of a stint in USA. BETDAQ 8.8 this morning.
Rhoscolyn (3) is a dual Goodwood winner on heavy, but ran here on the first day so Theoryofeverything (out of the one stall at 28.0), who has won three times on soft including at Ascot, is the likely lad for the David O’Meara yard, winners of this twice in the last five years.
Ebt’s Guard (12) has form at Goodwood and success at Ascot on the soft. Lattam (15) is an Irish Lincolnshire winner and a Doncaster Lincoln Handicap second on the soft-heavy Spring terrain. Betdaq Betting Exchange 18.5 offers.
TRY SANDALS IN THE MUD
⭕ 3.05 Goodwood (King George sprint) Khaadem, Charles Hills stablemate of four-time winner Battaash, won this in 2022 and has bagged two Royal Ascot Group-1s since. But he’s nine now and prefers quick ground.
Said to be Australia’s equivalent, Asfoora, was second to Big Evs in this race last year after winning a royal trophy. But that was her sole Group 1 anywhere and she was only fifth going for a repeat in June.
Big Mojo is another who prefers quicker ground but we have an improver in the race who made most to land the Commonwealth Cup at the royal meeting. It’s Time For Sandals again at BETDAQ 6.1 this morning.
TOP CAT CALLED STORM
⭕ 4.20 Goodwood (nursery) Eve Johnson Houghton took the Vintage (2yo Group 2) earlier in the meeting and the grandsire of her colt Airside (BETDAQ 20.0), bottomweight in this nursery, won on soft and heavy.
Airside is closely matched with Shaman Champion (but twice the price this morning) from eyecatching runs together behind Penhallam at Newbury.
Try Storm Cat, related to a French Derby winner, should also be ok on the ground, and Logi Bear’s grandsire, Pivotal, is a marker for soft.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
