SIX HIT TARGET FROM CARLISLE TO THE CURRAGH: Daqman works through the day at Carlisle, Goodwood and The Curragh tonight, analysing six races, stepping up his profit target for a handicap in Ireland.

DAVID’S LEADING THEM A DANCE
3.00 Carlisle Apologies for missing an old favourite, Sir Dancealot (WON 5-6), a gamble landed for David Elsworth at Hamilton on Tuesday.
David’s fine season continues, with four winners from eight starters since the end of May and maybe we can now look to Lady Dancealot; same sire but first foal of an Exceed And Excel mare. Tasty at 4.0 on BETDAQ this morning.
Maybe I missed Sir Dancealot because I would rarely look at a Hamilton card, and even rarer to see D Elsworth up there. Now we have today’s foray North for his first runner at Carlisle that I can see (but I don’t go back to the war with my records, David)!
Maybe he was looking for a bit of cut in the ground for Lady Dancealot but the fact that he won’t get it hasn’t stopped the flow of money for her this morning, down in grade on her decent class-2 effort at Goodwood on the last day.
All the others, apart from Foxtrot Lady, are class 5 and 6 animals, who have to step up a couple of grades here.
Foxtrot Lady had worrying bridesmaid form (3223-22) until getting off the mark at Chester but that track is a law unto itself and she flashed her tail when pressure was applied. Up 7lb and therefore into a higher grade now.
3.30 Carlisle Kensington Star, a 3.75 BETDAQ offer as I write, was all the rage with bookies this morning for a race he won last year of an identical mark, after running third at Hamilton with a subsequent Listed winner runner-up.
EAGLE WILL RELISH NEW TRIP
7.05 Goodwood A horse over the age of five has won this only once in the decade, so it might be worth weeding out the older horses and backing one from among what’s left.
A rise of a stone for two wins out of three means that Sky Eagle has to jump a grade from class 4 but he’s unexposed at this longer trip.
His pedigree says it should suit him and Ed Walker’s yard continues in good form, with another winner yesterday at Yarmouth. I took 2.84 on BETDAQ.
The one Sky Eagle has to swoop on up the hill is front-runner Arthur McBride (18.5 offers), whose form figures at Goodwood are 131.
Would you believe that current course leading trainer with 60% hits (three from five) is Arthur’s handler, Nigel Twiston Davies.
7.10 The Curragh Whereas Dali and Blue Uluru have both failed Listeds, Brick By Brick won one at Fairyhouse as a juvenile, making all on the soft.
He had broken his maiden on firm, here at the Curragh, when third, fourth, fifth and sixth all won afterwards. The runner-up tried and failed in a Group 3 but did score this month as a three-year-old.
Brick By Brick’s travelling to York on the last day also suggests the high regard in which he’s held. The question is whether he can make all the running from stall 7. He’s at his best that way.
Soft-surface-lover The Broghie Man also tried a Group 3 on the last day (True Blue Moon behind but now tongue-tied).
If you are a fan of Wayne Lordan, then stand by your man! His mount, Tammy Wynette, loves to hear her feet rattle. She is well drawn and visored first time. I took 8.4 Brick By Brick and 10.0 Tammy Wynette.
CAT NAP IN HER FIRST HANDICAP
7.40 Goodwood I’m not in the queue for Gift of Hera tonight. Her running away from her field at Wolver on the last day was quick thinking by Tom Marquand as the favourite faultered. He kicked on.
In fact, that favourite has never won a race, nor were there any other winners behind Gift of Hera that day, but she still has to carry an 8lb penalty for the privilege of beating nothing.
She will need more than that Wolver kick to get near Reckless Wave, who drops back a furlong on this course, to the point where she was leading in fact on the last day.
Pretty Jewel has been progressive in lower grades and on soft ground, but I fancy Arcadian Cat in her first handicap.
She stayed on behind Irish Oaks hopeful Sea Of Class at Newbury, with just ahead of her Crystal Hope, who had beaten the subsequent Musidora winner Give And Take at Sandown.
Arcadian Cat had launched her season second to another Irish Oaks (or Ribblesdale) contender, Lah Ti Dar
IT’S JUST THE PART FOR ACTRESS
7.45 The Curragh (Ballyogan Stakes) English raiding parties have won this three times in nine years, and Newmarket stables had the paper favourites today.
But, whereas One Master (William Haggas) has been well backed, Fred Darling fourth Hikmaa (Ed Vaughan) was easy in the market this morning.
Hikmaa dwelt at Lingfield when finishing just behind One Master, who pulled hard on her seasonal debut and will maybe be allowed to bowl along here.
But, if she does, she will get company from Gorane, who has not progressed (identical rating) since fourth in a Group 3 behind Caravaggio a year or so back.
Sorelle Delle Rose was upped 11lb for winning a Gowran handicap but the one I want to be on is Actress.
She’s the only one in the race to have kept Group and Listed company since breaking her maiden here at the Curragh 13 months ago.
Sixth in the Albany at Royal Ascot, winner of the Anglesey Stakes here at the Curragh and third in the Phoenix, she’s been slow to come to hand this term but now has the firm ground she loves.
I can’t believe the BETDAQ 7.4 about a Ballydoyle runner of her class. The money was all for One Master, more than a shade better than evens still (2.34) so we’d better have a saver.
