DAQMAN LANDS A HAT-TRICK OF NAPS: Daqman yesterday hit a Pass straight down the line to land a hat-trick of naps. ‘We could be looking at a completely different horse’ was his verdict on the 6-5 winner who paid 2.51 BETDAQ XSP.

WON 6-5 MEDICI PASS (Thursday nap)
WON 5-4 DOUBLY POWERFUL (Wednesday nap)
WON 8-13 LADY OF SPAIN (Tuesday nap)

FINAL FLING OVER THE JUMPS: Daqman today has four outsiders and a short-odds supernap to mix in final-fling doubles before the Lincoln Handicap starts the Flat tomorrow.

LINCOLN HANDICAP ABC GUIDE: Just 12 horses have the credentials to win tomorrow’s Lincoln Handicap; the rest are well outside the ratings range. Here’s how they check out on the stats.

LINCOLN HANDICAP TOP 12

⭕ 3.35 Doncaster tomorrow (Lincoln Handicap) Going: HEAVY, soft in places (cloudy). Tempting to look for a very light weight, but there have been only two winners below 9st for 14 years. STATS:

G: GOING: winners on H (heavy), S (soft), G (good); in brackets after name.
T: TRAINERS (Lincoln Handicap): William Haggas 4, Charlie Appleby 2, John Quinn 2.
LL LAYS LOGIC: Favourites: one out of 11 (and 12 of last 20 unplaced).
S: STALLS: Double-figure draw best though varies on soft ground. Winners by stall (since 2010): 1, 16, 12, 3, 3, 15, 22, 20, 10, 17, 10, 4, 12.

ABDE AWAAL (H) Off the same mark of 102 but getting 9lb from the winner, Migration, after their one-two in the Lincoln last year (1m heavy), so a 7lb pull to turn around a length and a quarter. See The Gatekeeper.

ABDE CHAZZESMEE (H) First race since runner-up to Blues Emperor in July when gambled-on winner of the Irish Lincolnshire last weekend (1m heavy). Naas winner last Spring (7f heavy). Races are usually wide apart.

ABDE THE GATEKEEPER (S) Fifth in the Spring Mile (heavy) at this meeting last year and 5lb worse off though beaten half a length, runner-up to Johan in the Goodwood Golden Mile (soft)

Ended the season winning the Balmoral Handicap (1m, soft) at Ascot on Champions Day in October. Nearest finish, seventh, was Lattam in cheekpieces first time; favourite Awaal was 12th, drawn on the wrong side.

ABCD LIBERTY LANE (S) Just got up to win 1m (soft) handicap at Doncaster last September bu nearer last than first in the Cambridgeshire on firm; gelded since.

CDE JOHAN (S)* Lincoln winner in 2022 (1m GS) and only five races since, including Golden Mile win at Goodwood (soft): See The Gatekeeper.

CD+E MIGRATION (H)* Last year’s winner on heavy, giving 2lb and a length-plus beating to Awaal. He is 4lb higher in the handicap and with tongue-tie now.

ABDE BLUES EMPEROR (G, S) Johnny Murtagh’s Gleneagles gelding was runner-up on soft first time last season before a good-ground double (1m), defeat of Navagio – Blues Emperor 4lb better now – followed up finishing a length up on Chazzesmee at the Curragh (1m, good).

ABDE LATTAM (H) Won the Irish Lincolnshire (1m soft-heavy) first time up last season and runner-up in the Newbury Spring Cup; then won the Seaten Delaval at Newcastle in June. See The Gatekeeper.

ABD THUNDER BALL (G, S) Progressed 27lb from Newbury novice success in May through Britannia 4th at Royal Ascot to less than three lengths 7th in the Cambridgeshire (1m 1f).

Won at Goodwood (1m soft) after beating The Gatekeeper there (1m soft in August) as a three-year-old. Stable, often early, has just had an AW winner.

ABDE VETIVER (S) Winner of a fillies’ Listed (7f soft) in June and, after a break, third in the Group-3 Sceptre on this course before beaten less than three lengths, fifth to The Gatekeeper in the Balmoral Handicap (1m, soft) at Ascot on Champions Day in October. Free-going sort; wears a hood.

ACDE FARRH TO SHY (S) Best form at 7f. Won over the Ascot straight mile on soft but the first six have all failed to score since.

ABD NAVAGIO (S) Lofty rating for winning at Gowran Park over 1m 1.5f on soft ground against Listed-placed horse, and may have been flattered. Moved to Newmarket.

HOOFNOTE: Johan and Migration get into the list as previous winners who like the ground, though are no longer the right age or rating.

BRADLEY ON THE EYECATCHER

⭕ 1.12 Lingfield today The 3lb claim of Benoit De La Sayette helped him win his second Lincoln Handicap a year ago.

All to play for now he’s lost his claim and he has his first ride in the race as a fully-fledged senior jockey on Farhh To Shy tomorrow.

But David Menuisier is not without a burgeoning 3lb boy to take over from Benoit as his Lincoln winner, Migration, bids for the big-race double.

Paddy Bradley partners Migration as his sole ‘job’ on Lincoln day, which gives his ride in this opening handicap the task of putting an edge on him, preferably a winning one.

With Bradley’s 3lb off his 69 rating, Kaaranah is now dead on the mark of his Kempton strike in September, after an introduction to Bradley at Wolverhampton last month, with that first race as a partnership down in Raceform’s analysis as ‘eyecatching’.

This is a better contest than that which could work in his favour; he needs a fast pace and should get it from the likes of Taravara, who was just headed by Cephalus at Kempton.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 19.5 Kaaranah

GUNG-HO BANKER ON HUGHES

⭕ 2.20 Hexham Brian Hughes (104 winners) lags behind Harry Cobden (148) and Sean Bowen (136) with the end of the season in sight.

Donald McCain, responsible for Hughes’s original rise to the top, gives him one job to do at Hexham today on Galunggung, who should land the supernap today ahead of a bold best bet on Saturday.

⭕ 2.30 Newbury Henry Daly, who won this race last year, is in good form with two winners in four days.

Moon Hunter, sole ride of the afternoon for Daryl Jacob, is a delicate sort but gets decent ground which brought him back-to-back wins just seven races ago. BETDAQ value 12.0 Moon Hunter.

⭕ 4.08 Newbury Kim Bailey hasn’t scored at Newbury for more than six years, and Destroytheevidence has not found it easy to shrug off a 6lb rise for success in the autumn.

Interesting that Dan Skelton brings Take No Chances back to the track, where he pulled up the last day after a bad mistake. Again, the good-to-soft ground should be ideal for a return to form: offers of 10.0.

⭕ 6.45 Newcastle Dual striker at Newcastle, Starshiba has dropped below his winning mark of last year in this race. BETDAQ value 6.8
