BRONZE CUP STARTS AYR MEETING: Ayr opens today with 8.2 and 13.0 bets in the Bronze Cup. There are also tips at Newbury and Kempton as Daqman follows the top jockeys.

TAKE ROCK-SOLID TRIAL RUN

THE ACE FOR THE RACE. That’s my plan for today by following the jockeys’ title battle, which I outlined yesterday. William Buick and Oisin Murphy both choose Kempton as their meeting, while Tom Marquand is at Newbury.

⭕ 3.25 Ayr (Bronze Cup) Pick of the high draw may be Rock Melody (23). Had to wait for room or might have won the Gold Cup Trial here on softish ground in July under a claimer. Paul Mulrennan now takes over.

Three-year-olds, like Harry’s Halo (21) and American Affair (25), rarely win this, while Novak (20) and Phoenix Beach (22) have been kept to a sound surface.

Ghathanfar (4) of the low numbers was fifth in this race in 2021 off 8lb more than today, and is 17lb lower than at this time a year ago.

But he struggled in the John Smith’s Sprint, in which Ascot Adventure (6) finished third. Danny Tudhope is a bonus ride, if you want to adventure a few pounds or euros.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 8.2 Rock Melody, 13 Ascot Adventure

LEMONS LINE UP FOR PAY-OUT

⭕ 3.35 Newbury (Haynes Hanson and Clark) Blue Point, sire of Big Evs, who scooted clear in the Flying Childers on the soft at Doncaster, now has Tom Marquand on Blue Lemons – out of a Galileo mare – stepping up to a mile in this 2yo test which has produced stayers like Yibir and Tritonic in the last four years.

Andrew Balding is having a good season with his juveniles and Royal Supremacy would be 2yo turf winner number 24 this season, if improving on his Sandown start last month, which is likely.

BETDAQ value 4.8 Blue Lemons, 5.7 Royal Supremacy

⭕ 4.10 Newbury (7f Listed) Al Mubhir, another Haggas-Marquand, has won on soft and heavy, and the Frankel colt may have his best chance to add a Listed to his credentials.

Haggas also runs soft-heavy scorer Aldaary, second in the Summer mile at Ascot and not disgraced in the Sussex Stakes. The overnight gamble.

PRIMEVAL MAY BE ANYTHING

⭕ 4.40 Kempton (7f 2yo) With Charlie Appleby’s two-year-olds striking at 30% (in fact, 25 out of 83), and Military Leader (Dubawi out of a Galileo mare) having cost £1.5m guineas, it will be a shock that could turn the Godolphin air blue, if he is beaten this weekend.

Military Leader sidesteps today, but look out for him on Monday. That leaves Orne in this but John and Thady Gosden have had only three two-year-old turf winners (out of 26 runners).

Imperial Guard would be a rare first-time scorer for Andrew Balding, James Fanshawe’s Churchill gelding a shock big-odds winner pour Encourager les autres.

⭕ 6.45 Kempton (7f fillies’ handicap) Primeval is built like a sprinter with the pedigree of a stayer. Sired by French Guineas and Derby hero, Lope De Vega, and related to winners up to 2m. She ‘could be anything’, as they say.

Rajindri has won here and Wild Side landed a hat-trick on different tracks in the Spring and early summer.

Mottisfont has kept good company but the danger to Primeval is probably Vermilion, with Oisin Murphy booked for the Newmarket winner.

BETDAQ value The 2.98 Primeval this morning is likely to go.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
