DAQMAN LINES UP CHAMPIONSHIP DAQ MULTIPLES: The start of the Flat turf season is a lucky dip at this stage, so on Monday Daqman promised an Early Birds treble at the AW Championships, staged at Lingfield today. All three have stood their ground. More than that, just look what happened: another strong contender for a place in his Fortune Cookies has emerged making up a four-timer in some mixed Daq Multiples for a play on BETDAQ today.

NOW IT’S THE EARLY-BIRD ACCA
For Treble, read Acca! Is it possible at this time of year when form is turned over on a daily basis, and hitherto unknowns fly out of the woodwork to eat their way into your wallet?
Is it possible that Daqman’s Early Birds’ Treble Chance, announced on Monday, can extend to a four-timer?
The difference is that this is not about the Flat turf season’s crazy start but about the AW championships, in which form usually counts for everything.
You can’t count the opening apprentice race but, after that, results by SP on this day at Lingfield have been as follows;
➡️ 2.00 Between 6-5 and 8-1 the winner
➡️ 2.30 Between 7-2 and 8-1 the winner
➡️ 3.05 Four out of five between 6-5 and 8-1
➡️ 3.40 Between 5-4 and 11-8
➡️ 4.15 Between 1-2 and 3-1
The AW championships treble was named in this column for the 2.00, 2.30 and 4.10 race, but we can’t ignore the other runner (on grass at Bath) for the Early Birds today.
If we do, he’s sure as a Brexit dead-heat to be the very horse to make up a treble or even the acca. Our four with best BETDAQ offers this morning:

Now here’s my race-by-race analysis of the seven races at Lingfield for these AW Championships:
HAVE THE HEART TO OPPOSE LION
1.30 Lingfield (AW Championships Apprentice Handicap) Low numbers tend to have the edge in the apprentice race which starts the card.
Lion Hearted (drawn 7) goes well for Mark Crehan and is a horse that has simply given the handicapper nightmares – he can’t seem to stop him !!
He’s racing off a mark 41 lb HIGHER than when winning at Chelmsford only in January (no wonder he won by six lengths that day – and his form this year has been… 11111011 – the only blip coming at Southwell. Who’s to say he won’t do it again but apart from being up again in the weights – this is a really competitive race and Lion Hearted is (surprisingly) running at Lingfield for the first time.
Sha La La La Lee is another in form horse but hasn’t fared so well with a 10 berth in the stalls.
Raucous (drawn 2) hasn’t won for a while but there was more promise at Kempton last time out when he stayed on over the six furlong trip and should be suited by today’s extra. Cieren Fallon is an added bonus as I go for a WIN 20 return from BOTH the win and place BETDAQ markets.
AMADE TO LAND ENGLISH TREBLE
2.00 Lingfield (AW Marathon Championships) Amade is between 6lb and 25lb well in at these level weights.
He has officially progressed 17lb in two races in England or, to put it another way, he’s been a shock to the English handicapping system, swooping from last to first at Kempton, then with a similar flourish at Chelmsford in an official heat for today’s grand final.
He’s now won seven out of nine, his last five in a row, four of them on AW, split between Marseille, Deauville and the two English raids.
Higher Power was five-lengths third and Aircraft Carrier was nearly eight lengths behind Amade at Chelmsford.
The grey Watersmeet likes Lingfield (form figures there since being gelded at 1m 4f plus: 112132); Spark Plug is up in trip and his stable is currently 0-10.
SAUCY GAMBLE ON CLON COULIS
2.30 Lingfield (Ladbrokes AW Fillies’ and Mares’ Championships) Clon Coulis is the big-odds hub of the Early Birds accumulator. She’s our gamble. To be worth it, as value, she has to be bigger odds than she should be on form.
In fact, she was a dual Listed winner last summer, following up success at Ascot by finishing four lengths or so off the winner of a Group 3, and then given a long holiday until Chelmsford last month, when she trotted up from Pattie, who reopposes today.
Island Of Life failed in a Listed bid at Wolverhampton on her comeback; Crossing The Line returned in a small field for a level-3 success.
Heavenly Holly is interesting: they thought she deserved a tilt at Listed company at Deauville and was beaten less than a length in a bunch finish.
Rasima is a big worry, Group-3 placed last summer and winner of a Listed over further on today’s course in November. Her trainer, Roger Varian, has had four winners since Tuesday.
KACHY ME IF YOU CAN
3.05 Lingfield (AW Sprint Championships) Richard Fahey has scored three times in the five years of this race so is an obvious starting point but the big caveat is the overall early season form of the yard (4 winners from last 46)?
Fahey saddles George Bowen who beat Raucous (my first race selection today) at Kempton last time out and is up 4lb in the handicap.
There’s a big danger lurking though in the shape of Kachy who looks reformed after his win op and still in front of the handicapper. He won a course and distance Listed race last time out and prior to that smashed the course record when making all to win by six lengths at Wolverhampton. Today’s SUPERNAP.
DEPUTISE NO UNDERSTUDY
3.40 Lingfield (Ladbrokes Three-Year-Old AW Championships) A more recent addition to Finals Day and won by the short priced favourites in the past two years.
Has a much more open look to it this season but William Haggas (who won it with Second Thought in 2017) saddles Deputise who already holds Charming Kid on Wolverhampton form and can make a bold bid for the hat-trick.
He still looks to have a progressive profile and looks the sort who always does just enough and can ‘kid’ the handicapper along.
THE CATFISH IS JUMPING AGAIN
4.15 Lingfield (AW Middle Distance Championships) Wissahickon launched our Early Birds horses-to-follow list this season with two wins out of two, and – as the 2018 Cambridgeshire winner (pictured) – is sure to be among our Fortune Cookies for the Flat turf season when the list is weeded out and we begin to bloom in the Spring!
Wissahickon (old Indian for catfish) is five in a row, the last three of them here at Lingfield, stepping up in grade from class 2 to Listed to the Group 3 of the Winter Derby, when he beat today’s rival and stablemate Court House an easy three lengths after that one had set a fierce piece.
Matterhorn is no slouch and, despite his age, Winter Derby sixth Master The World can do better, with David Elsworth back to form big time, his Dandhu taking the Fred Darling Stakes last week
DEALING THE RIVER CARDS
4.45 Lingfield (Ladbrokes AW Fillies’ and Mares’ Championships) The only one of the seven championship races which has not gone to a favourite in the five seasons of the race – and Lucky Team popped up at 40/1 last year for the French trainer Joel Boisnard.
Indyco has made the journey over the Channel this year and has been very consistent and could easily reward each way support.
However, Andrew Balding has his string in such irresistible form that it’s hard to ignore Straight River lurking off bottom weight and coming out of box 3.
He’s back after a break and up in trip – both look positive factors.
I’ll back both Indyco and Straight River to win 20 points on the win market and 10 on the place market.
