HANDICAPPER ALL AT SEA
⭕ 1.50 Musselburgh The ease with which a trainer can sneak under the handicapper’s radar is all Greek to me but this is surely a case of not looking a gift horse in the mouth.
Ocean Odyssey is sent up by the burgeoning stable of James Owen, which is 3-3 at Musselburgh, taking in a 5lb penalty for winning a week ago.
So he’s 7lb well in, with the handicapper having burdened Ocean Odyssey with a 12lb rise in future races.
ANOTHER HAGGAS SHOW
⭕ 3.30 Brighton Bullet Three-year-olds have taken this three years out of four, a sequence started by Eve Johnson Houghton, who saddles 10-1 Glamour Show in cheekpieces first time.
The two other three-year-olds to score were trained by William Haggas, and he hasn’t attempted further success in the race until now, despite a 50% record (6-12) on the course.
Two of the last three winners came from stall 2, as does a Haggas three-year-old today, Another Abbot: BETDAQ 4.7 taken.
DASHING OR DEADLY..
⭕ 7.05 Newmarket July Gloves off for a second time as the last two winners of this are toe to toe, with Dashing Dick (2023) 4lb higher and Spring Bloom up 2lb.
Spring Bloom beat Dashing Dick a head in last year’s race, with ‘Dick’ now 5lb better off but BETDAQ 9.0.
The third horse, Equiano Springs, is better off with both but is 11 years old and his Newmarket form (Rowley and July), though much superior, has tapered off in recent years: 110111000103033.
If there’s a bit of ease in the ground, and it slows them down a bit, ex-French Deadly Kiss might benefit: short-headed Spring Bloom giving 6lb over the CD last month. Levels today but Betdaq Betting Exchange offers of 12.5.
GREEN LIGHT FOR SAMRA
⭕ 8.00 Haydock We napped a winning two-year-old on the debut earlier in the week and Karl Burke has now had 35 juvenile winners (at a 32% strike rate) on turf this year.
His current form figures are 111211, three of them two-year-olds, and his Samra Green (8.00 race) is well drawn in stall 2 (gates 2, 3 and 4 have been responsible for 80% winners of this race).
Samra Green’s sire won on debut, and the favourite today, Moonshine, is in the adjacent one stall, a bogey in this and so many races.
Burke with Clear Force (5.40) takes on another hot favourite earlier, Charlie Appleby’s 1.4m dollar breeze-up buy Silent Applause, in the opening nursery.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
