BIRDMAN FLIES IN FOR DAQMAN: The ground turned soft at Haydock in another about-turn by the weather yesterday but it didn’t spoil a soaring success for Ryan Moore on Birdman (WON 4-5) to land Daqman’s nap.

NOW TRY THE BETDAQ YANKEE: Back to firm going today, Daqman analyses a ready-made yankee of races at Doncaster sponsored by BETDAQ, and the two best at Sandown this afternoon, which include his nap.

ECLIPSE AT SANDOWN TOMORROW: It all gets serious again tomorrow when Daqman tries to further Eclipse the Racing Post tipster Pricewise, whom he’s beaten 6-0 and 2-0 in their latest encounters, including at Royal Ascot.

DAN ANOTHER MAKEOVER FROM O’MEARA

2.00 Doncaster (betdaq.com Serious About Racing Maiden Stakes) Punters usually get this one right, with five consecutive winners from the front of the market, headed this morning by Druids Ridge, who has already beaten Depth Charge and Baler Boy.

But he still hasn’t won a race, and the one he’s run close up to twice, Arthenus, failed me this week – though a good second – on his handicap debut. Both colts need further.

Alasaal was a beaten favourite on the last day, twice showing promise, but in the same groove as Druids Charge: gaining experience, could win but needing further, and let his punters down so far.

Yes, you guessed, I’m going to take a chance with Headquarters, one of Mike de Kock’s rare runners this year, blinkered first time as if this is ‘press the button’ day: 7.4 on BETDAQ as I write.

2.30 Doncaster (betdaq.com £20 Free Bet Claiming Stakes) The handicapper refuses to drop Don’t Call Me, though he’s won only once since 2012, so here he is in a class-5 claimer.

King Torus is also struggling to find his old form after unlucky 13 consecutive defeats. One of them is likely to win and, at 2.12 each of two this morning, you pays your money and you takes your choice.

I’ll take a chance again, 9.4 of a chance, with Pivotman, claimed off for the Mick Easterby yard which is on a hat-trick today after a double on Wednesday.

3.00 Doncaster (Download The Betdaq+ App Maiden Fillies’ Stakes) William Haggas (Dufoof) and Charles Hills (Saguna) are also trainers who have landed a double in the last two days.

Odds on this morning, Bella Lulu is the one with the form, second at Salisbury, Rosa’s Cantina (Paco Boy) the one with the breeding for this trip. I’ll take an early position with Rosa (7.8 on BETDAQ, as I write).

3.35 Doncaster (Betdaq 50% Comm Back First 3 Months Handicap) A cracking little class-3 adventure for punters, with 0.6 points separating the front three in the early-mouse BETDAQ market, at 4.9 the field.

Exchequer makes a solo journey from Richard Hannon’s yard, which landed a winner and a third with its two runners at the last Town Moor meeting. But Exchequer has not won on turf and is a beaten favourite at Doncaster.

Green Howard needs cut in the ground and to shed a few pounds (August is his time of year), but Ruth Carr has won this before with a veteran (Beckermet aged 10 in 2012), so the bottom weight cannot be ruled out.

In fact, Victoire De Lyphar has scored three times at Doncaster, came back to form here on the last day, and is 13lb lower than his last winning mark.

Major Crispies beat him at Redcar and keeps going well off the same 89 mark without winning, and has only ever scored at 6f.

But I shall go with Regal Dan. David O’Meara has a tremendous record with cast-offs, witness ex-Haggas Rex Imperator’s success for the yard on Wednesday.

Regal Dan has landed a win and two seconds for O’Meara since leaving Charles Hills and I took the 5.8 offers on BETDAQ this morning.

RIFLESCOPE A CRACK SHOT AT SANDOWN

2.50 Sandown David O’Meara raids Sandown, too, today. Is Halsall merely a passenger in Fattsota’s box (see 3.55)? Or has the Kodiac colt a reasonable chance of turning round Royal Ascot placings with Soapy Aitken, who was fourth in front of him in the Windsor Castle Stakes?

Well, Adam Kirby got off ‘Soapy’ after winning at Windsor and described him as ‘special’. Ryan Moore takes over now, but much better form may be sighted in Riflescope.

Riflescope was also fourth at Ascot but in a two-grades-higher race, the Norfolk Stakes, when this stiff 5f looked exactly what he needs.

3.55 Sandown (Gala Stakes) Fattsota hasn’t won at this trip for nearly two years, and that when there was cut in the ground.

But there isn’t much between him and Provenance after a ride that Ryan Moore will want to forget at Royal Ascot.

But Fattsota led that day under Richard Hughes, and a cat-and-mouse between Ryan and Richard is on the cards again here.

If they really are very closely matched – the official ratings say there’s a pound in it under the conditions of today’s Listed – then Fattsota’s 4.6 is big value alongside Provenance’s 1.74 offers in the BETDAQ orange this morning, as I write.
