DAQMAN STRIKES GOLD IN TIME FOR TODAYS’ BRONZE: A winner day by day, an increased profit day by day. Daqman scored again yesterday with a 2-1 nap at Ayr, where the Great Western Meeting has the third leg – the bronze – of its Gold Cup this afternoon.
Thursday: profit on the day: 5.9 points
WON 2-1 Eclipse de Lunar (nap)
Wednesday: profit on the day: 1.5 points
WON 7-4 Mustahdaf
Tuesday: profit on the day: 0.6 points
WON 6-4 Motorious
15.5 IRISH RAIDER TO HIT BULL’S-EYE AT NEWBURY: As well as a supernap today, and bull’s-eye bets in the Ayr Bronze Cup, Daqman has another win-50 bet, an Irish raider at Newbury, last seen being offered at 15.5 on BETDAQ.
BUICK MOTORING SMOOTH AS SILK
⭕ 1.45 Newbury In my preview on Tuesday, I put up Newmarket winner Silk Romance ‘to pay for the weekend betting wallet’ when she lines up for the all-conquering Charlie Appleby at Newbury today.
The runner-up to Heredia’s Windsor win has boosted the form, and she is bred to benefit from the step up in trip.
My other preview bet, Jazz Club for the nursery, who also won at Windsor, has swerved the softer ground here today.
⭕ 2.55 Newbury (Haynes, Hanson and Clark Stakes) In the good old bad old days, Derby winners Henbit and Shergar won this, and later Epsom stars, Shahrastani and Authorised, were second.
Charlie Appleby, who saddled the Great Voltigeur winner, Yibir, to win it last year, should go close with King Of Conquest today.
William Buick would be completing a quick double after Star Romance, as he tries to run down Oisin Murphy’s jockey’s-title lead.
King Of Conquest won on today’s ground at Sandown, beating Paradias comfortably enough, though Alan King is likely to have Paradias straighter for this – getting 3lb – and 10.5 offers are huge.
The Frankel colt Westover also won at Sandown on good to soft, but runner-up Bullet Force has raced as an 83 since, well beaten by Zechariah (91 now) in July. Rawyann is officially 83 after two class-5 wins.
BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE 2.92 King Of Conquest. 10.5 Paradias
FORTAMOUR-HANAGAN NEW TEAM
⭕ 3.20 Ayr (Bronze Cup) You have to weed them out somehow in these sprints and hope you’ve cleared the way for a bet to bloom at a decent price.
Be Proud, Show Me Show Me and Ventura Express have never won beyond 5f, and this is not a good venue or size of field to start a 6f career.
Winners in this have often been placed in big-field handicaps of 6f; some have tried 7f. None older than six (deletes Secretinthepark, Bernardo O’Reilly and Flying Purusit, who has been placed in the Silver and could do so again but it’ll be tough for him to win it at aged eight).
Mark’s Choice, Ventura Express and Danzan were the 1-2-3 in the Silver Cup for the Great St Wilfrid Consolation, with True Mason fifth, Ghathanfar behind.
Mark’s Choice is slightly worse off at the weights but those who chased him home in that race have always found it hard to win.
Fortamour I like. Has won in September for the last two years, including off 4lb higher than today in a class-2 at Ascot.
He’s won again since then, at Ripon when Paul Hanagan rode him for the first time. He’s already been placed at Ayr, and ran well again at Ascot just 13 days ago, when struck into and denied a clear run.
Trainer Ben Haslam’s last runner showed he can still line one up. After a string of losers up to 100-1, he won with a favourite on Wednesday.. by eight lengths.
Remember, this is class 2 in name only, as the third leg of the divided class-2 Gold Cup. Fortamour, Flying Pursuit and Mark’s Choice are the only runners to have won at this level.
BETDAQ value 10.5 Mark’s Choice, 16 Fortamour
HOLD YOUR BREATH FOR 15.5 ACE
⭕ 3.30 Newbury If the first-time tongue-tie does the trick, Ace Aussie could be in at the finish of a Listed that used to go to three-year-olds almost every year.
Ace Aussie would be hot favourite had this race been run close to his second to subsequent Guineas winner Poetic Flare or third in a Group 3.
Jessica Harrington (currently 4-7) clearly thinks she has found the answer to his hanging, which probably cost him both starts and she’s brought him over to England and booked the stylish David Egan.
BETDAQ value 15.5 Ace Aussie

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
