WISE ONE IN A MILLION

⭕ 3.00 and 4.10 Newbury Charlie Appleby’s 10 winners in seven days’ racing between July 4 and 12 included five two-year-olds.

He’s back this weekend with two more juveniles, both running at Newbury today, both big Godolphin buys.

American-bred debutant Ruler Of Time (3.00) was a $700,000 yearling related to turf winners, and could shrink from 5.1 Betdaq Betting Exchange offers this morning.

Wise Approach (4.10), bought for a million guineas, is a half-brother to Commonwealth Cup star Perfect Power, a Newbury CD winner.

Wise Approach finished well, second over 5f in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot when Charles Darwin completed his hat-trick.

RUSH WORTH THE WAIT

⭕ 6.35 Hamilton (Scottish Stewards Cup) Low numbers in the draw have won six in a row but we haven’t had a decent field like this for some time.

Double Rush (coming out of 5 today) missed out on a hat-trick when failing to overcome the highest stall (20) in a big-field sprint at York, having to race alone.

He swerved a big handicap on the July Course last week because of the very fast ground. Today’s juice is perfect.

Northern Ticker (9) was well behind in the same race but it was her first run since October and the Listed third in the Two-Year Old Trophy at Redcar is better with some cut.

Nariko (3), who has climbed 15lb with three wins out of her last four starts, has won only on soft-heavy on turf.

Oisin Murphy, who rides here for the first time in four years, and is on Nahraan in the next, is three out of four on Nariko.

But is the going soft enough? There were showers forecast on good, good to soft, ground. If the showers are heavy, take a bit of 8.5 or so Nariko.

MORE DUBAWI MILLIONS

⭕ 7.10 Hamilton (Glasgow Stakes) Team Gosden has a rare runner at Hamilton: unbeaten Nahraan, stepping up from class-5 novices.

First foal of a Frankel mare, his sire is the French 2,000 Guineas winner, Make Believe.

Arabian Force attempted a similar leap from obscurity to the Group-3 Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot, in which Great David, a rank outsider, was fifth. Neither was seriously fancied that day.

The Dubawi colt Rogue Millions has been progressive, nicely nursed into this by James Owen. Has an entry in the Great Voltigeur.

Last year’s winning yard relies on a filly, Secret Of Love, second in the Cheshire Oaks to none other than tomorrow’s Irish Oaks favourite, Minnie Hauk.

She tried to dominate in the Group-3 Royaumont at Chantilly the last day but weakened in the final furlong. Today’s furlong drop back in trip should help.

Square d’Alboni is top rated on his two-year-old hat-trick but was down the field in the Chester Vase behind Derby winner Lambourn.

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
