ONLY NEWCASTLE SURVIVES TODAY: All bar Newcastle has been abandoned in England today. Kempton and Fairyhouse (‘unraceable’ today) were holding inspections for tomorrow.
ANOTHER STRIKE FOR DAQMAN NAP: Daqman landed an 11-10 nap (Tadreeb) at Lingfield yesterday but today’s meeting was abandoned this morning. He looks at three races this afternoon.
ZIVANYA LOVES NEWCASTLE
⭕ 3.35 Newcastle My pick of the opener must be Zivaniya for Hugo Palmer, a quality trainer, and Breccia for Robert Stephens’ stable in form.
Zivaniya has been placed four times here at Newcastle since being gelded (33102) and is also 2-2 at Kempton, and you can’t hold his moderate form on grass all that much against him.
The contrast between the wide-open spaces of Newmarket and the turning AW tracks only goes to confirm that he’s the kind of animal suited to the winter game.
Breccia has scored only at Wolverhampton but the Midlands track has the same or similar Tapeta surface as the Gosforth Park arena. If Tommo’s at the track, I ask him please pronounce it Bretch-ya; it’s not a breakfast cereal.
ALL AT SEA WITH SOVEREIGN
⭕ 4.45 Newcastle Bragbor, because he cost 400,000euros at a breeze-up, and Parkland because he’s trained Andrew Balding – and both because they are receiving 7lb – are likely to make a price for CD winner Sovereign Sea.
We have no idea whether Bragbor performs as well as he looks and trainer Balding (3-27) is not in the best of form.
Among his current sequence of 22022420004234 are three beaten favourites, always a bad sign.
Sovereign Sea (Roger Varian 2-9) is a recent CD winner, endowed with bags of stamina, and with a 2yo price nearly four times his yearling value.
IT’S LUCKY JIM’S TRACK..
⭕ 5.15 Newcastle Mumayaz is a course winner and a distance winner but not at the same time, hence ‘C, D’.
His trainer, Tony Carroll, has already landed seven winners in 2025 but is a rare visitor to Newcastle.
Jim Goldie’s scoring rate is even better (6-15 for 40%) all six at Newcastle, where Oriental Prince is 20112 since his autumn return. Those two wins had raised him only 4lb until he almost completed the hat-trick here and was put up another couple of pounds for finishing second over 6f. This is back to 5f.
The main danger, according to the markets, Dicko The Legend, is a 6f-only scorer, and the minimum trip may just be too sharp for him again.
So I recommend split stakes Oriental Prince, 5.0, and Mumayaz 10.5 on Betdaq Betting Exchange

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
