DAQMAN 37-1 DOUBLE BID IN THE ULSTER DERBY AND OAKS: Daqman starts with his nap at Newmarket today, before a 37-1 big-race double bid in Northern Ireland: the Ulster Derby and Oaks.

After a hat-trick of winning naps, Daqman watched plunge horse Thai Power come in from 9.5 on BETDAQ to trade at 5.9 then down to 7-2 SP yesterday, only to finish second. His bets, Dark Vision (WON 4-5) and Beringer (2nd 7-1 from 11.0 on BETDAQ), were one-two at Pontefract.

TOMORROW: The King George at Ascot and the York Stakes on the Knavesmire, plus racing on the July Course and meetings at Doncaster and Gowran Park.

FOLLOW DAQMAN BIG-RACE BONANZA

It’s all happening. Ascot King George day tomorrow, Glorious Goodwood and the great Galway Festival next week. Daqman goes value hunting – or lays some favourites – with his punting power in pretty good form.

The Daqman service is free to BETDAQ players and visitors to the site, which contains articles of advice on exchange betting. Where space permits, Daqman analyses the cards, particularly a big race, to give you the form and information to make your own picks.

📈 NAPS: 7-13 Currently three out of four, with a hat-trick Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and seven up from the last 13.

📈 BONUS NAP: 1-1 Launched only a week or so ago with the first one a winner. The idea is to bet at value you create yourself.

📈 SUPERNAP: 1-1 Supernap returned with a winner this week. The idea this time is for a sequence of short-priced winners, showing only a narrow overall profit but giving you scope for solid returns from your own staking plan.

📈 DAQMAN v PRICEWISE: 19-7 The main value area, containing bull’s-eye bets to win 50 points, bringing some expertise and reality to value betting.

Daqman is currently leading the Racing Post man 19-7, with his profit 56.33 to his archrival’s loss of 281.50, so a gap of nearly 340 points between the two.

📈 LAYS: 4-5 Find a false favourite; oppose the fake news and hype. Four out of five since the resumption.

MORE HANNON GOLD IN NUGGET FORM

⭕ 2.15 Newmarket Richard Hannon’s record in this race is 211 and there could be more from Nugget, successful at this trip at Doncaster and failing by only a neck to give 8lb to the winner at Windsor.

Cognac beat nothing well the last day, and Marronnier is a buzzy sort whose last race was a win on heavy ground 299 days ago. I wouldn’t want to be on when he’s fresh.

Among Ambassadorial’s 13 consecutive losing races since a win are a neck defeat giving 8lb to the winner the last day, and second to Montatham before that one was runner-up in the Royal Hunt Cup. Hard to win within any company and has to give 13lb to Nugget.

After just three runs, Yes My Boy may have improvement in him, and Archie Watson remains in good form (7-37).

EAST IS EAST AND THE REST GO WEST

⭕ 2.35 Down Royal (Ulster Oaks) We’ve had only one winner of this bigger than 5-1 SP in the decade and only one over the age of four.

In any case, despite her hat-trick, the five-year-old Wilderness is officially on only 77, whereas the smart three-year-olds Katiba (96) and Slaney East (91) are not far short of pattern level.

In fact, Katiba tried the 1,000 Guineas but, at Fairyhouse, Slaney East pipped a filly who was earlier within threeparts of a length of Ribblesdale and Epsom Oaks runner-up, Ennistymon.

Ennistymon’s stablemate, Elizabethofaragon, is Aidan O’Brien’s sole runner today (what, lost some entry forms, Aidan!) Bled under pressure on the last day, though that didn’t stop her winning.

I took 9.8 Slaney East on BETDAQ this morning, looking for a 37-1 double with Zeus in the Derby further down the card.

ZEUS NO LONGER A BABY SAYS KEANE

⭕ 3.45 Down Royal (Ulster Derby) Red Kelly was so impressive at Leopardstown as part of a 6-15 run of form for Johnny Murtagh that the handicapper whacked him up a stone and a half! Johnny also runs Springbank.

Meanwhile Ger Lyons has now created two spaces gathering dust on the Ballydoyle sideboard, following up Siskin’s Curragh 2,000 Guineas with Even So’s Irish Oaks.

He also has two in this: Marchons Ensemble was a fine second, giving weight to Moll, who ran on well, fourth, in Even So’s Naas Oaks trial.

But Colin Keane comes off Marchons Ensemble to ride stablemate Baby Zeus, who stayed on late behind hat-trick horse, Delphi, at Navan, giving weight to the first three and catching the eye under Colin’s kind education (he had ridden the colt to win on the debut but remarked on how much more mature he is now).

Aesop shouldn’t be discounted and Sunchart is down in grade, but lightning can strike for Lyons again with Zeus: 3.9 on BETDAQ this morning.
