MATCH OF THE DAY: MOORE v MURPHY: Daqman reckons the day at Newmarket revolves around the continuing battle between Ryan Moore and Oisin Murphy. Here are their main clashes with BETDAQ offers this morning, and Daqman’s bets below:

1.50 Chantilly (Moore) 4.8, Involvement (Murphy) 5.5
2.25 Heavens Gate (Moore) 2.66, Mighty Eriu (Murphy) 7.9
3.00 Fairbanks (Murphy) 4.5, Fox Journey (Moore) 6.9
3.35 Porta Fortuna (Moore) 2.11, Running Lion (Murphy) 4.9

POWER PLAY BY APPLEBY

⭕ 1.50 Newmarket (1m 2f handicap) The low six stalls have scored 9-10, six of them won by Team Johnston: they drop Candle Of Dubai (7) back from a failed try at 1m 4f but she was a big drifter early doors.

Chantilly (9) is also returning to 10 furlongs after failing to find anything in the last quarter of a handicap on firm (1m 4f) at Royal Ascot.

We’re in a reverse of that situation with Involvement (6) after a creditable run in the Britannia (1m), looking as if this further two furlongs was necessary.

Royal Power (out of the one stall) is a Charlie Appleby carbon-copy of his winner of this in 2022, even to his draw.

Lightly raced as a juvenile, with promise of more to come at three, made an impressive reappearance in a Listed; down a level to handicap company here and 5.5 on Betdaq Betting Exchange.

MIGHTY BETDAQ OFFERS

⭕ 2.25 Newmarket (6f Duke Of Cambridge Stakes 2yo-fillies Group 2) A strong line-up of top ratings face off: 103 Heaven’s Gate, 101 Mighty Eriu, 100 Maw Lam.

In fact, Mighty Eriu and Maw Lam were a neck apart at the finish of the Queen Mary (Group 2) at Royal Ascot. Mighty Eriu was on the ‘wrong’ side of the draw and Maw Lam finished like the proverbial train but was friendless in the markets this morning.

Heavens Gate was third in the Group-3 Albany, put firmly in her place by Fairy Godmother, with Mountain Breeze (rated 95) in fourth, yet she has a higher rating than the Queen Mary duo.

I’ll bet 7.9 Mighty Eriu and Oisin Murphy beats 2.68 Heaven’s Gate and Ryan Moore. I’ve got the value but have I got the winner. Look out for more Moore-Murphy meetings today.

BOTTI IS IN GREAT FORM

⭕ 2.40 York (6f Group-3 fillies and mares) Three-year-olds have won the last three (and are 5-7) and the 6lb they get from Unequal Love and the grey Funny Story should be enough but Pink Crystal could be the stumbling block.

Funny Story was out of the frame behind Pink Crystal in the Scottish Sprint for fillies in September, before that winner was beaten less than a length by a 109 and 113 rated one-two in a Group 3 at Ascot.

Of the three-year-olds, Adaay In Devon (gave 3lb) pipped Flora Of Bermuda a head in the Scurry at Sandown (5f good to soft) after finishing runner-up to Jasour (6f good to soft) in the Commonwealth Cup Trial at Ascot.

But Great Generation catches the eye at BETDAQ 6.7. Marco Botto, who scored with the progressive Giavellotto yesterday, has already won a Group 3 over 7f with Great Generation this term.

Add to that test of stamina the speed she showed at Chester in September and you have the combination of ability shown by her dam, Dutch Art, Morny and Middle Park winner as a juvenile who went on to be high class over 6f and 7f as a three-year-old.

IS FAIRBANKS YOUR BAG?

⭕ 3.00 Newmarket (1m 6f handicap) Bague d’Or is the only CD scorer in the line-up but that success, in fact all his wins, came on good to firm ground.

Fairbanks finished in front of Bague D’Or in the Duke Of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot. You can argue that the extra two furlongs today favours Bague d’Or; equally, Fairbanks (now blinkered) was drawn in single figures at Ascot and the high draw was best overall.

Fox Journey is another showing no form with cut in the ground and how much the July Course has dried out will be a hub to the result.

The Johnston stable has won this three times in the last five years but there’s no standout among their three runners.

PORTA FORTUNA NAPPED

⭕ 3.35 Newmarket (1m Group-1 Falmouth Stakes) It’s a 5-5 split between 3yo and 4yo winners in the decade, and they look head to head here.

The clash of Running Lion (aged four) and Porta Fortuna (three) also creates another match between Oisin Murphy and Ryan Moore, both outstanding this season.

Splitting his services between England and Ireland means that Moore has ridden exactly half Murphy’s tally of 116 but, on prizemoney won, Moore is close on £6m, Murphy on £4m.

Porta Fortuna, second in the Nemarket 1,000 Guineas and winner of the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot – both Group 1 – is already rated 117, but gets 9lb from Running Lion (110), a Group-2 winner at Ascot. Both seem to act on any surface.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
