60 POINTS UP AFTER THREE DAYS: Daqman warned that yesterday’s racing was ‘not easy’ but – as usual – he designed his staking plan to get out of trouble, in this case breaking even on the day with just one winner. So he is still around 60 points up after six winners in three days.

🌧️ GOING changed from soft to heavy this morning
FAIR CHANCE WITH SPIRITUAL
⭕ 1.50 Newmarket: This Listed fillies and mares has been dominated in the decade by Team Gosden (Spiritual) and William Haggas (Doom) with 6-10; three wins each.
Three-year-olds are 7-10 and the four-year-old Doom has disappointed since her third in the Duke of Cambridge at Royal Ascot, and has dropped first to Group 3 and now to Listed level.
The other four-year-old, Sirona, has slipped a few notches in the ratings and Ryan Moore must have his work cut out.
She was beaten five times before taking a 7f class-3 handicap at Ayr (soft) last September, and has lost six times since.
Spiritual has been beaten twice since lifted to Grade 3 after winning a Listed (soft) at Sandown in July.
But she put up a good performance in one of them, fourth in the Atalanta (with Rolica fifth) behind the French Oaks third Tamfana, who was then fourth in the Grand Prix to Sosie, now Arc favourite after following up in the Niel.
Fair Point has progressed 16lb through the grades in four starts and Ralph Beckett’s superb record this season (currently 34%) and affinity with fillies lifts her even higher in this company.
The one for the money this morning, taking BETDAQ offers to 4.4 Fair Point, 4.9 Spiritual.
IT’S COMING UP ROSES..
⭕ 2.25 Newmarket (Dubai Stakes): After the one mile of the Listed ,we step up the fillies and mares to Group 3 and up to 1m 4f.
The score is 4-3 to three-year-olds over those aged four and above, but Time Lock tries to stay young, as last year’s winner, lightly raced this season but, with tongue-tie first time at age five, it’s clearly a tricky double bid under Ryan Moore.
Divina Grace has been withdrawn because of the ground but her form suggests the three-year-olds seem to have it to do, since she beat Place Of Safety despite giving her 10lb, on the July Course in early August.
Sea Of Roses has been consistent at Listed level and won one at Windsor on the soft the last day. Her ability on the ground may be the key to the race and she is talked up in the Press by Oisin Murphy. Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.5 taken.
Another Frankel filly, Comic Book lacked the speed to reach a Grade-3 winner at Deauville, so was stepped up to 1m 6f+ but then dropped a grade to Listed and fared not a lot better.
GROUND FAVOURS FORMAL
⭕ 3.00 Newmarket (Rockfel Stakes): Michael Stoute – not yet the knighted Derby winning trainer – won this twice in the Eighties and returned in 2010 to score again as Sir Michael.
Moving right to the end of his reign (this is his retirement year), Formal would see William Buick follow Walter Swinburn and Ryan Moore to the winner’s enclosure and the Rockfel prize.
Formal, a daughter of Dubawi out of a Frankel mare, has won her novice tests (2-2) on firm and soft, ‘impressive’ and ‘showing her class’, according to racereaders.
Aidan O’Brien has withdrawn Ecstatic because of the ground and has to rely on Bubbling, third in a Listed at Leopardstown.
Formal has proved she handles it soft ground, whereas Ecstatic’s Japanese sire has got just one winner on the soft (0-4 on heavy) from eight runs.
HEART IN DIAMOND HUNT
⭕ 7.15 Dundalk (Diamond Stakes): Johnny Murtagh’s Take Heart, who won the Chesterfield Cup (1m 2f) at Goodwood in July, is a fine, big grey, regarded as a Stakes horse.
She swerves tomorrow’s Newmarket Cambridgeshire for this Listed at Dundalk, where she won her maiden.
I’m going to oppose Star Harbour who is 0-12 on AW, so the unexposed Platoon is my saver to Take Heart.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
