SOME LIKE IT HOT DARLING..

DAY-BY-DAY STATS: last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIES: Monday.
BETDAQ Sportsbook: daily prices. BETDAQ Exchange: offers you can trade.

🎩 2.30 Royal Ascot (Albany Stakes, 6f) Wesley Ward has been wide of the mark this week and 6f is not usually his bag, so Burning Pine is not for me.

Key race for this is the Naas trial won for Aidan O’Brien by Meditate before she landed the Albany. Fairy Godmother, who has followed in her footsteps, is drawn 6.

And stablemate Heavens Gate is on the other side of the pack in 17; she has bags of stamina in her pedigree and so was able to lead on and off as she pleased – and where it matters! – when scoring at the Curragh recently.

The Lope De Vega filly Mountain Breeze is closely related to multiple 2yo winner Pinatubo and has a useful draw in 12 but Charlie Appleby is not pulling up trees this week not even shaking off a single apple!

Some like it Hot Darling! Her sire, Too Darn Hot, has produced the winner of the Irish 1,000 Guineas this season, while the dam’s sire, Helmet, won the Emirates World Cup via Thunder Snow.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 2.74 Fairy Godmother, 12.5 Heaven’s Gate, 49.0 Hot Darling

KARL BURKE HAS ELITE STATUS

DAY-BY-DAY STATS: last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIES: Monday.
BETDAQ Sportsbook: daily prices. BETDAQ Exchange: offers you can trade.

🎩 3.05 Royal Ascot (Commonwealth Cup, 6f) Karl Burke has elite status this week with his two-year-olds, winners of the Norfolk Stakes and the Queen Mary. Can he continue his luck here?

He has last year’s Norfolk third – Elite Status in fact – back for a big prize, after stepping up 9lb to win a Listed at Newbury last month; on that running about 8lb better than Adaay In Devon.

Jasour, who won the July Stakes last summer, landed the Trial for this Cup by beating a tenacious Adaay In Devon by about 3lb here at Ascot (soft) on May Day (Starlust 6th).

Front-runner Inisherin (pictured below, yellow silks), sixth in the Guineas, dropped back to 6f and won the Group-2 Sandy Lane. That was on Haydock soft, but he’s bred to be fine on firm.

BETDAQ value: 3.45 Inisherin, 5.9 Elite Status

CLASSIC WINNER BETDAQ 6.8

DAY-BY-DAY STATS: last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIES: Monday.
BETDAQ Sportsbook: daily prices. BETDAQ Exchange: offers you can trade.

🎩 3.45 Royal Ascot (Coronation Stakes, 1m) With Ramatuelle in the one stall on her 1,000-Guineas-revenge mission, things might drop right for Elmalka again. Gate 7 helps.

Ramatuelle gave way by only half a length to Elmalka, who came from last place to just pip Porta Fortuna.

The handicapper has raised Elmalka 13lb in the ratings to 113, dropping Porta Fortuna 2lb and keeping Ramatuelle on 114, which suggests it will be very close between the two rivals.

But hold your horses: did I say two rivals? Romantic Style, who pipped Ramatuelle half a length in the Imprudence trial (heavy), finished just threeparts of a length down on Rohiya in the French 1,000 Guineas (soft).

That has them 114 each Ramatuelle and Rouhiya, 113 Elmalka, 112 Porta Fortuna, and we haven’t even mentioned the top rating, 117 Opera Singer.

The Marcel Boussac winner in the autumn, she was Irish 1,000 Guineas third a month back, both on the soft, but her fabulous sire, Justify, completed his US Triple Crown at Belmont on very fast ground.

VERDICT As the man said, when you have to choose, you must choose the Classic winner. Fortune Cookies win with Rousallion means we can afford the 20 points at a huge 6.8 on BETDAQ

ANOTHER DIAMOND FOR MOORE

DAY-BY-DAY STATS: last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIES: Monday.
BETDAQ Sportsbook: daily prices. BETDAQ Exchange: offers you can trade.

🎩 4.25 Royal Ascot (Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes, 1m 3f+) I shall concentrate on 4yo and 5yo in high stalls: Ethical Diamond, Deakin, Shadow Dance and Epic Poet.

Deakin should reverse his neck defeat by Crystal Black (stall 4) at the Curragh just 27 days ago. Ethical Diamond (Ryan Moore) is marked up for failing by a nose to score at Leopardstown off 9st 13lb but actually has 12lb less in the saddle today.

Shadow Dance looked progressive last year and has won before off a break; those in the know pounced when early odds were listed, so presumably is better for his gelding op, but the value has gone.

Epic Poet is well in on 2022 form but prefers cut in the ground. As for the in-form Sea King, we’ve just seen Sir Mark Prescott win the Ascot Stakes with the lightly raced and skilfully targeted Pledgeofallegiance.

BETDAQ value 3.55 Ethical Diamond, 9.6 Deakin, 31 Sea King, 43 Epic Poet

MURPHY ROSE TO THE OCCASION

DAY-BY-DAY STATS: last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIES: Monday.
BETDAQ Sportsbook: daily prices. BETDAQ Exchange: offers you can trade

🎩 5.05 Royal Ascot (Sandringham Stakes, 1m) Ten of the last 13 to finish in the straight-mile Britannia Stakes yesterday were drawn 1-13 and the first nine home were in 15-16-31-33-23-29-19-20-30.

Winners of this Sandringham handicap have been drawn 16, 21 and 25 in the last three seasons and, matched with those Britannia results by stall, the stats suggest we concentrate on Kitty Rose (pictured below), Soprano, Asian Daze and Hard To Resist.

Everlasting beat Asian Daze half a length at levels in a Navan Listed and needs first-time visor to improve on that, with Asian Daze finishing the better and now 5lb better off.

Kitty Rose earned her top weight, mixing it at Group and Listed level, but is still unexposed after just four starts and Oisin Murphy is riding high alongside Ryan Moore, two champions this week.

Soprano is the Hidden Horse. Her move up to a mile has been eagerly awaited since George Boughey marked her down for stardom when she was third in the Albany behind subsequent 1,000 Guineas runner-up, Porta Fortuna.

She was then runner-up in the Sweet Solera to Fallen Angel who would go on to win the Irish 1,000.

The royal runner Hard To Resist will have been laid out for this, kept fresh, and first time on a sound surface after fourth in each of the May Hill and the Miesque on soft–heavy.

BETDAQ value 9.7 Kitty Rose, 19 Soprano, 33 Asian Daze, 58 Hard To Resist

‘ASCOT DERBY’ FAVOURITE BEST

DAY-BY-DAY STATS: last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIES: Monday.
BETDAQ Sportsbook: daily prices. BETDAQ Exchange: offers you can trade

🎩 5.40 Royal Ascot (King Edward V11 Stakes, 1m 4f) The ‘Ascot Derby’ always goes to the top squads, usually the one made favourite.

Aidan O’Brien is already the ‘winner’: a low-drawn contender is best and he has all four of his between stalls 1 and 6.

You oppose Ryan Moore at your peril and Diego Velazquez looks best, French Guineas fourth and Derby seventh there, both in soft-heavy.

This is a drop in grade for the son of Frankel and he is 2-2 on a sound surface. Betdaq 4.9 taken.

VAN IS TOO SPEEDY FOR WALK

DAY-BY-DAY STATS: last Friday. FORTUNE COOKIES: Monday
BETDAQ Sportsbook: daily prices. BETDAQ Exchange: offers you can trade.

🎩 6.15 Royal Ascot(Palace Of Holyrood House Stakes, 5f) Sommelier (stall 27) in first-time cheekpieces chased home Big Evs in a Listed at York last month, with Dark Vintage third with a visor introduced.

Third in both the July Stakes and the Richmond Stakes, Toca Madera (out of 8) is likely leader of one of the splits, back to the minimum on the firm ground he loves.

Mukaafah (9), out of a Frankel mare, is alongside him, and the very speedy Vantheman (14) could be in that middle group.

Beaten by his draw at York (13 with the three placed around him from 1, 2, 3), he is 5lb better off with the winner, Jubilee Walk.

BETDAQ value 9.4 Vantheman, 12.5 Mukaafah, 16.5 Sommelier, 82 Toca Madera
