DAQMAN CHASES DOWN A LOSING FAVOURITE: The Ascot-losers system and the theme: which 2yo tests at the royal meeting will produce the big winners? That’s Daqman’s starting point today for three bets at Sandown. Yesterday he opposed the odds-on-favourite, Storm Chaser (2nd 10-11).

FOLLOW DAQMAN: 33-23 AHEAD OF PRICEWISE: Tomorrow is a big day with two Saturday Fortune Cookies and bets, including on the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown, in his value challenge to Pricewise, which currently sees him ahead 33-23.

JUST SIX LEFT IN THE ECLIPSE

⚠️ HEADS UP: Six have been declared for tomorrow’s Eclipse at Sandown: Alenquer (Tom Marquand), Bay Bridge (Ryan Moore), Lord North (James Doyle), Mishriff (David Egan), Native Trail (William Buick) and Vadeni (Christophe Soumillon). See Daqman’s form guide yesterday.

⚠️ HEADS UP: As well as Vadeni in the Eclipse, Fortune Cookies expects to be represented tomorrow by Auguste Rodin in the Irish Stallion farms EBF at Naas (4.18).

⚠️ HEADS UP: There are a total of 57 races at eight Saturday meetings in England and Ireland, four more on Sunday plus the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, for which those engaged include: Alpinista (Sir Mark Prescott), Dubai Honour (William Haggis), High Definition (Aidan O’Brien), Hurricane Lane (Charlie Appleby), Lone Eagle (Freddie and Martyn Meade) and Third Realm (Roger Varian).

ASCOT FORM PROPELS ROCKET

⭕ 1.50 Sandown (Dragon Listed 2yo, 5f): This is the time of year when punters have a singular horses-to-follow list: Royal Ascot losers.

At the same time, they have a second string, closely allied to it, based on which Ascot two-year-old races are working out the best.

In this race, Bakeel represents the Norfolk Stakes, in which he was fifth. The race has had one runner so far: Crispy Cat (3rd) was last of six at the Curragh 10 days later at the same level.

Rocket Rodney and Eddies’ Boy are running for Little Big Bear’s Windsor Castle Stakes, in which they were second and third.

The seventh and eighth have been out since, Silencer (second) failing to win a maiden at odds on; Wodao winning a Listed at Tipperary.

Remarkable Force was 15th in the Coventry, from which the fourth horse home, Blackbeard, has since been short-headed in the prestigious Railway Stakes at the Curragh.

The Norfolk and the Windsor Castle have produced the winner of this Dragon Listed four times in the decade but the handicapper thinks that the Rocket Rodney neck defeat in the Windsor Castle is well superior, rating him 102, which is generally an overkill mark for this race. Evens this morning.

BETDAQ ALERTA! VALUE AT 4.8

⭕ 2.20 Sandown (Esher Stakes): Though this is 2m, in fields large and small nine out of 10 winners in the decade have been drawn 2, 3 or 4.

The one stall doesn’t shout in favour of Silence Please and her stablemate Coltrane (2m 4f winner at Royal Ascot) looks a bit remote in stall 7, with old-timer Euchen Glen made to work hard from 6.

Though eight-year-olds have won this twice in three years, I can’t support Not So Sleepy, now aged 10, a winner just once in his last 24 starts.

The race may be between the unexposed Alerta Roja (stall 4), second to Stradivarius in the Doncaster Cup; Rodrigo Diaz (3), third to Quickthorn over today’s CD in May; and Calling The Wind, Queen Alexandra placed for the last two years and third in the Cesarewitch. I took 4.8 on BETDAQ about Alerta Roja.

REALITY CHECK ON GALA DAY

⭕ 4.05 Sandown (Gala Stakes) Euchen Glen won this 1m 2f Listed last year, aged eight, and Addeybb is well clear in the ratings at the same age, after third to Eclipse player Bay Bridge over this CD and second to St Mark’s Basilica in the Eclipse itself a year ago.

Addeybb’s star strikes these days have been in Australia in our Springtime and, since 2018, eight from nine victories have come with ‘soft’ in the going return.

Though eight out of 10 winners of this have been aged four and five, Addeybb plus three seven-year-olds and a six-year-old, have only Foxes Tales to uphold the stats but he, too has shown his best form on the soft. Passion And Glory’s hat-trick last year was all with give in the ground.

Regal Reality returned well from six months off at Royal Ascot, when he was fourth, sandwiched between Harrovian (third) and Foxes Tales (sixth) in the Wolferton. Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.9.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
