GAMBLES TODAY AND TOMORROW: One step ahead of the game today, Daqman checks out the gambles on races at Lingfield and Southwell. One step ahead for tomorrow: he finds you potential outsiders to check out for tomorrow’s Leopardstown card.

452 POINTS CLEAR OF PRICEWISE: Don’t miss his Saturday special on day one of the Dublin Festival, with his current 22-8 winners lead over Pricewise, 452 points clear to level stakes with a profit of 258.33 over his archrival’s 194.16 deficit.

‘TARA’ BIG-FIELD SPECIALIST

⭕ 3.00 Leopardstown, tomorrow (Leopardstown Hurdle) In the nine years of this race, only one winner has carried 11st or more. So dominant are the lightweights that a Willie Mullins’ ‘no-hoper’ scored with 9st 8lb at 40-1.

So you’d probably fancy Park of Kings (9st 12lb) instead of the same owner’s Canal End (11st). Stop right there on this J P McManus pair!

Canal End broke his maiden at the Fairyhouse festival last Spring, a comfy winner, proverbially miles clear of Park Of Kings at level weights.

But, while Canal End ran some moderate races in the autumn, Park Of Kings was getting into gear, scoring twice and finishing a clear third in a big (2m) field at Leopardstown, looking for all the world as if he could do with another mile.

Music Of Tara loves a big field: 3rd of 19, 2nd of 26, 3rd of 20 and, the last day, with heavy ground to help, she won here at Leopardstown in a field of 21 but still has just 10st 11lb under Rachael Blackmore.

Another mare, Gaoth Chuil (‘tailwind’) is 2-2 at Leopardstown since stepping up in trip, first to 2m 4f last March then, in December, up to near-3m on heavy when winning a Pertemps Hurdle qualifier.

GAMBLES HAMMER BOOKIES

⭕ 1.47 Lingfield, today Red lights have been flashing in the markets for Southwell and Lingfield, where 10-year-old Divine Messenger is a plunge horse in this 7f handicap.

David Probert is on the Messenger for the first time since February last year when they teamed up for an 11-1 win at Lingfield and scored there twice more in the next six weeks. BETDAQ 9.6.

⭕ 4.00 Southwell Hammer Dan has been pretty much ineffective over 2m or so and has started 80-1, 33-1, 28-1 and 22-1 in his four hurdles starts.

There was a series of dramatic changes yesterday: firstly, trainer David Pipe and claimer Ellis Collier landed a gamble when, after flopping at 22-1, 22-1 and 16-1 in his previous starts, Heure De Gloire scored at 9-4 at Ffos Las.

Pipe then declared the equally ineffective Hammer Dan for Southwell today over an extra mile, 3m instead of 2m, with Collier booked again.

Last night the 12-1 and 14-1 outsider early doors crashed to 9-2 and 5-1, but you could still get 8.0 on BETDAQ this morning.

BOB IS A JOB ON SOLO RAID

⭕ 3.05 Catterick Catterick and Musselburgh are Venetia Williams’ winningmost tracks, and she’s sending solo runners to each venue today and tomorrow.

Christopher Wood, Musselburgh course winner, runs in the Edinburgh National on Saturday.

But first Charlie Deutsch goes to Catterick for the one ride on Eleanor Bob in this Mares Chase Series Qualifier.

BETDAQ 3.45 offer, Eleanor Bob drops a grade, after taking on class-2 company at Haydock in the autumn mud. She struck form at this time last year with back–to-back strikes not far short of today’s trip.

Eureka Creek has earned a slightly higher rating but Emma Lavelle feels that it’s better to claim off her, and more worrying is Shighness, with her winning hurdles jockey, Brian Hughes, booked.

HARRY COBDEN FOR ZWICKY

⭕ 3.25 Southwell Zwicky has handicap-hurdle form of 131133 since last January, costing him an overall 12lb rise.

But the son of St Leger winner Sixties Icon makes his first attempt at a 3m hurdle today, with Harry Cobden booked.

He’s getting weight from his nearest rivals in the market, barring Myfanwy’s Magic, who is claimed off, though that’s been the case in her two last novice defeats.

Jaramillo (1-11) has scored just the once over hurdles and last time he carried 12st 2lb he was 14th of 16.

Globe Player hasn’t achieved much (form 2333) in his bumper and hurdles career, and has dipped a couple of pounds in the ratings, though cheekpieces might help.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 2.6 Zwicky (nap)
