FORM AND RATINGS GUIDE TO THE CHARLIE HALL: Daqman brings you up to date with news of today and tomorrow at the Down Royal Jumps meeting, plus a form-and-ratings guide to the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby tomorrow.

RYAN MOORE JOB HORSE NAPPED AT NEWMARKET: Daqman looks for unexposed horses at a price on the Newmarket card, including a nap for which Ryan Moore is booked, and finds a chaser at Wetherby who has won five out of six when fresh.

RACHAEL WINS JOCKEY-GO-ROUND

⚠️ HEADS UP: Rachael Blackmore will partner Gold Cup hero, Minella Indo, in tomorrow’s Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal.

Jack Kennedy was expecting to keep the Cheltenham-winning ride but has been told he must honour his retainer with Gordon Elliott and partner Delta Work in the same race.

Rachael Blackmore will also be in the plate on Envoi Allen in the Grade-2 chase on the same card: Davy Russell is obliged to ride Elliott’s Vado Forte, with Kennedy on Coko Beach.

Summer hat-trick winner Fairyhill Run switches from the Ladbrokes Champion Chase to the Grade 2.

CYRNAME FACING IMPROVERS

⭕ 3.05 Wetherby, tomorrow (Charlie Hall Chase) Cyrname goes for a repeat in tomorrow’s Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby, where the going is currently good but with rain expected. It was soft when he won it last year.

168 Cyrname Failed to complete in two runs since beating Vinndication in this; pulled up in the King George and then when favourite for the Ascot Chase. He’s had wind surgery during the summer break.

159 Clondaw Castle Never out of the frame in the last two years but scoring only on good ground at Kempton (handicap) and Newbury (Grade 3).

156 Top Ville Ben Wetherby CD winner in the Rowland Meyrick Handicap (soft), ridden clear. That shot his handicap mark to 164 but he’s been well outclassed in Graded races since, and it’s back down to 156.

152 Fusil Raffles Nicky Henderson youngster who won three in a row, still standing, last autumn, two of them at Cheltenham, and second there in the Golden Miller at the festival.

151 Mighty Thunder Progressive in the last year, four wins out of six hiking him 21lb and establishing him as a marathon runner: won the Edinburgh National and the Scottish Grand National; second in between in the Midlands National.

149 Kittys Light Very progressive. Three wins from five chases in the autumn of 2020 raised him 23lb and this year has seen his overall rise reach 40lb after second in the Sandown Gold Cup. Never out of the frame in any steeplechase.

148 Shan Blue Chase winner here back to back last autumn (including over CD) and took Kauto Star (Grade-1) Novices Chase at Kempton in December.

Rating dipped with seconds in both the Scilly Isles (Sandown) and the Mildmay (Aintree) this year. This is his first run outside novice company, chase or hurdles.

ATHEBY LOOKS UNDERRATED

⭕ 1.55 Newmarket today Two-year-olds have shared this 6f sprint prize 5-5 with three-year-olds in the decade.

They have 19lb gifted to them as an allowance and it looks pretty obvious that Eldrickjones (rated 97) could well turn over the year older Bahrain Pride (rated 98), who has to give him the 19lb.

However, Eldrickjones’ rating has dipped after the application of cheekpieces for his last two starts has seen him struggle both times.

But, though on a mark 9lb behind Eldrickjones, the other two-year-old in the race, Atheby, looks well underrated by the handicapper off 88 at this trip.

He dropped back from 7f to six at Salisbury and was beaten only a short-head by 101-rated Ribhi after a right old battle. If Ribhi ran to 101, then Atheby was worth 96.

Right on top of Atheby, denied a clear run, was the third, Witch Hunter, now also rated 101 after a three-parts of a length defeat by Canonized (100) at York, trying to give that one 5lb.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value 5.3 Atheby

BENEFIT OF BEING UNEXPOSED

⭕ 2.30 Newmarket (‘Bosra Sham’ Fillies Stakes) This is the Cheveley Park at Listed level, with Desert Dreamer (fifth, beaten five lengths) representing that illustrious September Group 1, won by Tenebrism.

Wrapped around her defeat that day, when she didn’t have the best of runs, Desert Dreamer has placed five times – in Group-2 company twice – against such top juvenile fillies as Zain Claudette (beaten a nose) and Sandrine.

This is her third try with a tongue-tie and her 10th race altogether this season. Her best form has been on a sound surface.

Irish-trained Pennine Hills is another ‘nearly horse’ in her own country, placed three times but not won since her maiden; always a bad sign.

I’m looking for a lightly-raced improver to beat the exposed filles: Benefit, Barbanera, Red Lacewing or Frankie Dettori’s mount, Love Me Likearock.

Clive Cox’s Benefit is a big, strong filly, bred by the Cheveley Park Stud; she has her first big chance, with Ryan Moore taking over.

BETDAQ value 6.0 Benefit

VANILLIER’S CHASING LAUNCH

⭕ 3.30 Down Royal Vanillier gave Daqman’s Fortune Cookies a big hit at 14-1 in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham and this first venture into chasing could put BETDAQ ambassador Gavin Cromwell in the spotlight from a race that produced Samcro and Envoi Allen in the last two years.

That pair gave Gordon Elliott five in a row and his Grand Paradis will be fancied to improve over fences on some less-than-fluent hurdling.

Beacon Edge has been well backed overnight for Noel Meade but Champagne Gold for Henry De Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore has been on the drift.

BOBBY’S ON FIRST-TIME BEAT

⭕ 3.50 Wetherby Good Boy Bobby has won five times out of six after a break; in the losing race, he was beaten only a head, and made up for it next time out, winning here at Wetherby.

‘Bobby’ became a bit of a bridesmaid at the turn of the year, with two seconds and two thirds through until the Spring.

In that time, he was always a short price and took on top-class animals, including in a Graded chase, such as Dashel Drasher and Chatham Street Lad.

His consistency kept him high in the ratings but, down a few pounds and first time back today, he should give you a good run for a stable in form.

Eclair d’Ainay has yet to step out of novice company; Whoshotthesheriff has never won this high in the handicap; Magic Saint could improve for wind surgery but is stepped up half a mile.

BETDAQ value 3.9 Good Boy Bobby

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
